The front of the bakery sells plenty of baked goods (bread, rolls, cookies, pastries, etc). They back of the store sells pizza. They’re cash only! Pay for bread in front & pay for pizza in back.

the square slices here are some of the best around--salty mozzarella, tangy sauce, a crispy, buttery crust. the fact that this is also a great italian bakery is just the icing on the cake.

If Rose & Joe's Italian Bakery wasn't already a fairly well-known quantity among pizza hounds in NYC, you could be excused for thinking you'd walked in on a sort of secret pizzeria there.

As Clemenza said "Take the Cannoli". Made to order, crispy fried shell encasing the right amount of creamy, not-too-sweet, not-too-thick ricotta & sugar filling. Molto delizioso!

Italian bakery pizza sold here (i.e., square slices somewhere between a Sicilian and nonna style). Late morning/early afternoon is the best time for pizza, but it's a great snack whenever.

Get the pizza, preferably in early afternoon when fresh out of the oven. Sfogliatelle as well as the semolina loaves are also highly recommended.

Underwhelming pizza and they aren't friendly at all. No place to eat the overpriced slice you just paid cash only for either.
