I like this place for the Magic Theatre, Greens vegetarian resto, and as a place to start a nice flat 9km round trip run to Fort Point.

If u are visit the upper part of Fort Mason @ Bay & Franklin keep in mind there is road construction happening. Driving in/out is a little confusing at the moment.

Go have a picnic behind the Hostel at Fort Mason. There's a quiet green space behind the building above the tourists with views of the bay, an old canon and picnic tables.
