TJ’s can get crowded, so go early in the morning on weekends or in the middle of the day during the week. The store is well-stocked and the long line always moves pretty quickly. Read more

Most spacious and spread out of all the Trader Joe's I've been to in NYC. This is my fifth. More cashiers than other TJs so the line moved quickly on a Wednesday night.

If you come on a crowded day/time, know what you want because the entire top floor turns into the checkout line. Produce on top level, other things on bottom level.

Get there before 3 and no line. On a Friday even. But even with the line they will have you out of there in 8 minutes tops.

The line is often very long. But it moves very fast! Try to resist being those people where one waits in line and the other person rushes around to get stuff because it ruins the adventure.

Veggies not as fresh as Fairway, often sold out by end of the day. Frustratingly long queues. The frozen Japanese gaoza dumplings are the best in town, baked goods better than Wholefoods.

This place is always crowded on Mondays after 5pm. It's typically way better on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if you need to go after work

Everything. Absolutely everything. Grab a basket, get what you need downstairs, and then get in line and shop as you wait! It's the best way to maximize your time.

The line always moves faster than you think. Start in the basement for frozen + pantry stuff, move upstairs for fresh. Don't abandon your cart in the line to shop for 3-5 minutes. Reach! And jam 🎧.

Great (and reasonably priced) for frozen food, dry / canned goods and beer! The line isn't as scary as it seems (unlike 14th St.). Wish they could have a wine store at this location too!

Pack your patience. Polite and hardworking staff. Good selection of edibles. Good place to pick up a hostess gift or contribution to a gathering.

Huge huge line and incredibly crowded. But things move fast and the food is high quality and inexpensive. Even if there's a line outside, don't let it deter you.

Shop for everything you need on the Downtown floor first, then get on the line and collect things like milk, eggs meat and veggies while you are on line traveling to check out.

The staff here are always the nicest ever. Also, be nice to the world and bring a reusable shopping bag - if you do, they'll put your name in a raffle. ;)

Don't be a douche: return chilled food items to the chilled section. Don't just dump it in a random bin.

The most civilized T.J.'s in Manhattan hands down. Typically not crowded (nothing like 14th St.) & nice/helpful staff. The prices are great & nearly everything is quite good!

This store is a daily shit show unless you come early in the morning before 12 or after 8pm, otherwise be prepared for chaos! There is even an occasional line outside to get in which is just insane!!

First Trader Joe's experience and it was a goodie. The groceries were surprisingly cheap, didn't expect it at a store like this. The beer is also extremely cheap for Manhattan.

They keep the inside non-crazy by limiting the number of ppl who enter at a time. Seems insane that stuff like this happens on a regular Sunday, but that's manhattan for you.

Cut you some flax. Try adding flaxseed or its oil to your meals. Trader's has it golden roasted, milled, whole, in cereal, in oatmeal. The health benefits are plentiful and the taste is yummy.

A grocery store of organized chaos. Avoid during peak times - the after work crowd is intense and they'll often turn people away if lines are too long. Fairway and Westside Market nearby are good alts

They run out of kale pretty fast, but if you call in the morning and "reserve" it... They"ll hold it for you until the end of day. Kale: the popular green du jour.
