This is such a great, charismatic 'hood in ATL. Don't cast aside FP for being close to the 9-to-5 working set or tourist attractions. There are plenty of places to eat and neat architecture to enjoy.

The district developed during the late 1800s, when Atlanta emerged as the commercial center of the Southeast. At the time, the area was promoted as "Atlanta's new modern FIREPROOF business district".

Interesting promotional tool: the roof was not on fire for the Fairlie-Poplar district downtown- during the late 19th century it was promoted as "Atlanta's new modern fireproof business district."
