Even though it's a tourist trap, the food and service are great. Portions are designed to be enormous so it's the perfect spot for large families to feel at home.

The eggplant parmesan serves 5 and is both absolutely delicious and tender and light. All the dishes serve 4 - 6 so go with a group of at least 4 if you're all gonna share one main dish.

Carmine's spicy scarpariello wings are an amazing happy hour snack. If the full order is too much you can always ask for a half order. If you're at the bar, Andy and Dan are the best.

Having lived in Italy, I can say Carmine's is pretty damn good. It has an American twist but living in Italy, made me miss the twist. Plus the portions are ginormous.

Good food. Good kitchen. One pasta is enough for 3 or 4 people. Too much garlic!!! Ask for pasta without garlic!!! Real italian kitchen

Found the food to be over-salted - sophomoric chef error - and marginal in quality. Portion sizes are borderline offensive in the midst of a dark recession, with people starving on the streets.

DELICIOUS! Move over, Buca di Beppo. Had the salad and chicken parm... the best I've had in DC in five years. Keep it up, Carmine's!
