- AliciaMarch 13, 2015Dumpling noodles from mistaken "Wrg" stall, right next to the famous one,turned out pretty good. And I actually preferred it to the wanton Mee my HB got from the famous stall when we met up later.
- Local desserts ($1.80 per bowl). Enjoyed the authentic bowls prepared by Wei Ji #01-76. Generous ingredients for tau suan & red bean/green bean. Not overly sweet. Intend to sample the rest of menu
- Stewed duck. Eunice Quek, food correspondent, enjoyed it from Soh Food #01-106. The meatier whole leg serving ($5.50) is served with mushrooms & spinach. Source: Straits Times
- Roasted meats. Above average serving from Happy World Roast #01-107. Clean-tasting preparation, although 'sio bak' (roast pork) has overly salty skin. Served with chicken soup. Good chilli dip
- Chicken cutlet ($6.50). From Chicks N Chops #01-71. Well-marinated. Served with homemade sweet sour sauce. Coleslaw was a bit dry. Asked to swap fries out, so chef gave more of the other sides
- Check out single-plate zichar stall Poh #01-89. Besides his famous 'chye por' (chopped fermented radish) horfun, chef can also whip up fried rice, horfun or noodles, & staples like har cheong gai
- Feeling peckish? Small appetite? Consider Kuehs & Snacks #01-84 for their traditional kuehs like ang ku kueh, ku chye kueh, soon kueh, png (rice) kueh, & more
- Duck stew. Soh Food #01-106 offers this unique dish. Goes well with his sambal belachan dip. Also sells duck soup
- Vegetarian options: prata, dosai, bread, bao, rojak, vege hor fun, local snacks, vege dishes with rice, yutiao, tahu goreng, lontong, chwee kueh, chee cheong fun
- 'Chai png' (economy rice). Lai Huat #01-95 serves generous portions of rice. Curry sauce was tasty too! This plate $3

- Lionel ChanJanuary 28, 2014The #01-98 chicken rice is decent and not too oily and the uncle is friendly and will add you more rice if you ask for it. 3 dollar for a add rice add meat. Only available until afternoon.
- Wash basins. If u just need to rinse your hands or an item, no need to walk all the way to the toilets. There are basins (& a water cooler) in between the food centre & the market.
- Amazing mural painted by the nearby St. Margaret's Secondary School Creative Art Club. Spotted it @ the wet market side. It's titled "Tarik!"
- Nasi Lemak. When I sampled on a workday 7:30am, the rice was soggy from Economical Bee Hoon #01-82. Chilli paste is the savoury type, not sweet. Fried chicken wing was cold, not crispy
- Pondok Marina #01-104 sees queues during mealtimes. Regulars enjoy their mixed rice, plenty of selection

- Playground. There's a spacious play facility nxt to food centre, @ end of Blk 8. Breezy spot. A distraction for kids who need to burn some energy off during a meal :-)
- The Farrer Road Chicken Rice stall is nice and cheap. The chicken is very tender and juicy
- Wantan mee: Ah Wing's #01-108 WTM sauce & char siew (BBQ pork) slices are on the salty side. Wantan fillings were generous
