- TK-421December 4, 2016Mmm, pork belly. Tontontaksu Ramen is awesome, spicy or plain. They also serve Sushi which is great. Good restaurant and very nice service. Gave us a good lead on the R2 unit we're looking for too.
- Tom McGhanApril 8, 2013I prefer the standard tonkotsu to the spicy garlic version; no reason to mess up the deep rich flavor. Make sure to add an egg (perfectly cooked!) and of course, those braised pork belly chunks.
- Grace S.January 10, 2016Most perfectly cooked ramen egg ever. I'm a whimp when it comes to spiciness so I will order the mild spicy garlic tonkatsu broth next time. They give you a big portion of the karaage appetizer.
- My favorite Ramen spot. Get the spicy pork tonkatsu ramen with extra egg and extra pork belly. Expect a wait,it’s well worth it.
- Fong ChinDecember 31, 2013First time trying Saiwaii sushi and I love it. It just melts in your mouth and the spiciness is just right. Must try!
- Mark AkiatenApril 17, 2018Everything is good here. Come for lunch and have a special. You could beat it if you were a Japanese chef but that's the only way
- Joe NazzalSeptember 8, 2017Had the spicy garlic tonkatsu. Average ramen, decent portion. Really good lunch special. 6 piece roll and bowl of ramen for $11. Wouldn’t go out of my way for it. However they play some great music!
- The pork tonkatsu with pork belly is awesome! Try the spicy soft shell crab too!
- fartz smellerFebruary 28, 2015Hands down the best ramen in the city. Get the tonkatsu ramen with extra pork belly. You'll be happy you did.
- I go here for the Tonkotsu w/pork belly or sushi combo. Best ramen around, decent sushi if you're in the mood for that instead.
- Linda GeJune 29, 2014Close to the golden gate park. Though a little small, it's cozy and food there is great. Recommend the spicy ramen there.
- Brandon M.May 18, 2016Love the garlic tonkotsu. If you can get here for lunch you get ramen + sushi for $11!
- Sam SeelyMarch 27, 2013The garlic tonkotsu bowl is the best ramen I've had in the city. Great spicy broth. Great pork. Will be back soon.
- Ashley MowreyMarch 12, 2015Mild spicy means super spicy. Everything else about the ramen was... good, not the I'll-go-to-outer sunset good though. Dat egg doh...
- Long Duk DongSeptember 22, 2014Spicy tonkatsu ramen with pork belly oh and more pork belly. Is awesome. My favorite.
- Rachael ColeMarch 20, 2018Tonkastu Ramen was delicious. Got the lunch special with a 6pc sushi roll and it was great.
- if they have the chicken broth ramen special i highly recommend you get it--it's like a chicken tonkotsu, rich and concentrated.
- ClandestineDrinkerAugust 14, 2019Get the pork tonkotsu ramen with extra pork belly and an extra egg.
- Try the Chicken Karaage - #kvpinmybelly Crispy chicken skin on a stick in #SF. NOM. Nice touch with lemon juice
- Excellent vegetarian ramen options, staff accommodating with substitutions.
- Try the Chicken Karaage - #kvpinmybelly: Yummy fried chicken. Tasty starter before #Ramen good times.
- Liz 🦎March 2, 2014Skip the gyoza and get the karaage! So good! Ask for some mayo to dip and you'll be in heaven!
- Josh AdamsJuly 5, 2014Tonkotsu or bust. Service is wonderful. Pregame @ Durty Nelly's after getting your name on the wait list.
- Tobias SchmidtMarch 26, 2017The noodles were just about the only thing that didn't disappoint with the spicy garlic tonkotsu: A broth that was spicy but otherwise just boring, overcooked eggs and tough chashu.
- Average ramen place, meats used for soups aren’t always fresh (smell weird). Appetizers-the deep fried stuff- is ok as are the vegetarian soups. Customer service was so so
- Amber YuDecember 28, 2014Food quality is not consistent here. Sometimes the ramen is good. Had a few instances where the meat was old. Avoid everything on the menu unless it's spicy pork ramen.
- VansiJuly 24, 2016The cha shu isn't very good, the noodles are ok and the spicy garlic tonkatsu broth is good.
- The spicy garlic tonkatsu ramen with add-on egg and corn is mighty scrumptious.
- The spicy garlic miso ramen is tasty, but get it if you can handle the heat.
- Sarah Bruning MeronDecember 29, 2013Spicy garlic tonkatsu. Add pork belly. It's spectacular. Nap for dessert.
- I think they have a new cook. Extra spicy now means no flavor and so much spice it will burn a hole in your stomach.
