I remember the original Penang restaurants in SoHo and the East Village. Most dishes are a fair reproduction, but the sotong goreng has been a letdown of late. Morgan and Emil make it worth the trip.

Soong lettuce wrap appetizer is fantastic. Very filling. It's a special. I'm hoping it will be around for a while.

Lunch special is a good deal if you're a fan of lots of food. I usually substitute the spring roll for extra salad.

Went for lunch special. Soup, salad and entree came at same time - annoying. Basil chicken is mediocre/heat lamped to death.

I'm a big fan of the steamed poh-piah, but it's not what you might think, so ask Morgan to describe it.

Didn't like the thin fish cakes much. Felt like fast food. Had them way better at other places.
