Brigadier General John Rawlins served under Grant during the American Civil War, ending as the Army Chief of Staff, and later as Secretary of War under President Grant.

A nice place to sit down and have a break, unless you have orinthophobia (fear of ducks) - so many ducks everywhere!

John A Rawlins served as staff officer under Grant through the entire Civil War (1861-1865) and as Secretary of War when Grant became President. Buried in Arlington, he died of tuberculosis in 1869.
