Eat here for lunch! Their version of a Mediterranean salad is excellent (add house roasted local turkey). Also a cheese and charcuterie counter. These folks are super knowledgable too
Calichevre special sandwich was delicious! Only 6 chairs @ 3 tables, so take a picnic somewhere if it's busy. It started really raining outside when we arrived & we easily sat at a table at 2 pm.
Both sandwiches I had here were amazing--tip: try anything w serano ham or their hand carved turkey and add cornichons/manchego. quality of meats/cheeses used in the sandwiches is top notch.
Gale's Rootbeer is the best! Grab a Bocadillo sandwich. Rodembach beer is so smooth you will think you are drinking a glass of wine. And if you are in the mood for cheese try the Saint Agur.
They don't have Havarti 😔 but they DO have a great selection of honeys, Dijon mustards, and other fancy assorted condiments you may need in your life 👍🏾
Three of us shared a sandwich and a cheese plate, and it was amazing! The Gorgonzola and Gouda are especially good, and the sandwiches and olives have an amazing flavor!
Lunch from Pastoral then hit up the Art Institute. Pastoral has great sandwiches and the Art Institute is the best place to spend a Saturday afternoon.
The Sinfully Healthy may be the most delicious sandwich ever created. Don't be fooled by the name, there's enough cheese on it to kill a lactose intolerant.
This outlet of the local bread and cheese store serves up sandwiches of a frighteningly high quality for under $10. Seating, unfortunately, is extremely limited.
I'm not a sandwich eater but these are outstanding. Bennison's bread is in house daily. 40% off on day old loaves. Folks this is a real chesse shop complete with wine.
GHers - try a quick lunch at Pastoral. Close to work and a gr8 break from the pedway options. Around the same price point as Cosi (maybe slightly above), but you won't regret it!
the duck confit sandwich is the best sandwich in the area, by far! ...expect to wait 20-30 minutes though even for takeout, and even if you call ahead.
You know what I don't appreciate? Being told in the world's most condescending tone that cheese/meat plates need to be phoned in now. So, uh, fair warning.
Spanish Tuna - delicious. The "pastoralise it" deal is a bit of a scam - they give you a ridiculously tiny cookie instead of the delicious big ones that they have visible!
