The shard is a great spot for meetings and views. As is getting into the bridge and looking across the Thames both sides. Or Borough market across. Lots to do ... Station itself is modern/functional
Engineering works delays? It'll be quicker to walk to the nearest car dealer, buy a car, drive it through central London in the opposite direction from where you live and you'll still beat the train.
Stay safe, you’re at one the busiest stations in the country – you can tell us about any non-emergencies by text on 61016 (in emergencies dial 999). http://j.mp/text61016
Lovely station. Love the new refurbishment with the wooden effect by the staircase Great station to pass by, but a nightmare on rush hour. Ideal time to see trains & unhurried people is the weekend
May be a poor relation compared to Paddington, St Pancras.. But the brick arches the track traverses leading away from LB are a great engineering feat, just as much as the arches of aforementioned.
Pub inside the station is crap. If you want a nice drink in a nice place while waiting for your train walk out and past All-Bar-One to the bar in the hotel. Lovely, quiet place for a drink
Massive station with lots of... drum roll... trains. I like it because it has trains that bring me home. No luggage lockers at the time of this tip. Very busy spot.
Great place to freeze your soul over daily if you commute. If you're a massive pisshead make sure you aim for full blown coitus in front of everyone whilst still holding a bag of Burger King.
The new design of London Bridge is a vast improvement on what previously existed. However it's the train service that matters, all these improvements still signal failures & delayed services.
On platforms +12 and upwards, when coming into London Bridge in the morning during rush hour head to the front of the train before getting off the train. It's quicker :-)
The railway station is the oldest terminus in London, opening in 1836. It was badly damaged in the Blitz, and went through major redevelopment in the 1970s to cope with new levels of traffic.
Contemplate whether Sisyphus pushing a rock up a hill for all eternity is a fate worse than having to travel via London Bridge station every day. Such contemplation may lead to deeper existential awar
This is the station to the London headquarters of Language Connect. Every morning Language Connect's employees can be seen pushing and shoving people to get to work on time.
If you need to buy a ticket it's best to start your journey the day before you want to leave. The queues and paltry number of ticket machines are pathetic.
It’s bloody difficult to find any of the facilities if you don’t know where they are 😳and don’t stand on one of the through platforms in a howling gale...
Be careful where you enter the station. Just been charged £4.60 on my pay as you go Oyster to cross to the right platform. Station split in two sides platforms 1-7 and 8 plus. Rip off to cross between
One of the farthest platforms. If you're running for the last train prepare for the possibility that it could take ten minutes once inside the station to get on it! Sometimes nearest carriages shut.
Gents toilets on platform 5/6 are both convenient and grim. Poorly spaced urinals, handwash if your lucky, leaky taps and a faulty hand dryer. It's free so you get what you pay for!
