Z71 4X4March 30, 2013For those incoming to Yerevan. Cognac/brandy (Ararat Akhtamar 15y, Nairi 20y,apricot/peach/berries moonshine stuff) is cheaper in Airport duty free, than you would find at city's grocery/wine stores
There's plugs on the sides of the chair in the waiting lounge in case you need to charge electronics. The staff at the coffeeshop are very sweet!

Richard ThomasMay 17, 2012There isn't much to do at the airport. Got here early, went through security and there was one 1 small cafe. Fortunately you can sit in comfort and look at the mountains.

Great looking and efficient new airport, with a good duty free selection, nice restaurant and free WiFi.
When choosing a taxi avoid official airport Aero taxis. From airport to city center I have paid 8000 AMD (early morning, foreigner). On way back only 2000 AMD with Lancer taxi.

James DoteDecember 16, 2014Foreign exchange is limited, small but convenient airport. Traffic towards departure area can be slow at times.
Upon arrival you can call a taxi +374 10 499994 . It will be in airport in 15-20 minutes and costs 2000 amd to centre. Do not use local taxi guys - too expensive.

The airport was built in 1961. It is now the busiest airport in Armenia and of the Caucasus. The airport was renovated in the 1980s with the development of a new terminal area, in order to meet domestic traffic demands within the Soviet Union.
