- Aline TheunsDecember 3, 2017Quiet and somewhat hidden coffee shop, good place for studying. I like the ‘mini library’ they have outside and the artsy decoration. Seating is pretty uncomfortable though :) coffee is good!☕️
- Mandi HolmesAugust 24, 2014The cajeta latte is the best latte I've had. And their cold brew is top notch. it's a great place to study. Lots of tables and chairs. Usually more people with laptops than just socializing.Upvoted Feb 18
- Joshua MawMarch 30, 2018Nitro cold brew best in Houston. Sandwiches were fab too - perfect to share for lunch, free banana/crisps too!
- Bilal KhoukhiJuly 23, 2017I definitely agree about the shot of attitude behind the register. To be fair, I don't go there a lot, but the times I've been there, the attitude was always present.
- Aisha TaylorOctober 8, 2013It might be hard to find an outlet and the chairs closest to outlets are sometimes the least comfortable. Pretty sure they bought these from an old high school. It's all thrift shop furniture....
- It can get crowded, so come early in the evening or late in the afternoon for good seating! It usually has a nice quiet vibe!
- T ManJuly 13, 2018Cold draft no additives is perfect on a warm Houston day. Eclectic crowd. Buzzy. Fun. Lots of laptops and tablets.
- Subria LJuly 17, 2011Agreed great 4 people watching, music is just at the right level not to quiet not too loud, soothing, yet not going to put you to bed. Wifi connection is great and there are about 20 ppl on comp LIKE
- The Iced Coffee is awesome, add some skim milk and spoon full of agave, complement with a slice of sukini bread and enjoy your book.
- Houston PressAugust 12, 2014It's not every coffee shop that also sells wine, beer and food from local bakers and chefs. Read more
- Aisha TaylorOctober 8, 2013Cheapest coffee I've seen, plus they let you pay with Square AND free wifi AND AND AND craft beer and wine. Oh and a patio. Sold.
- Wonderful! Get the dirty chai! One of my favorite places to do homework. They have great coffee, beer, wine, and snacks.
- Joshua JagnananApril 11, 2013Despite its somewhat hidden location, this is one the more happening coffee shops inside the loop. Check out the table with local author's books near the counter.
- Elvia FrancisJuly 24, 2012Their strawberry-basil mimosas, for $5, are exquisite! Excellent large space and seating as well. The baristas are pretty nice too.
- venu vasudevanOctober 26, 2016chill place, hipster vibe, music talk. i wouldn't say that either the food or the coffee stands out, and the service is languid at best. that said, if convenience is important ..
- DesignBiggerAugust 3, 2011Good selection of food and drink. The iced tea is good, cheap, and you get unlimited refills. The wifi is also pretty good. Don't let the secret out! ;)

- Saw the bacon gouda rosemary scone, and had to try it. I was a little worried the flavor would be too strong for a scone, but they nailed it.
- This place is a giant cash register. Want a good place to study? All of Rice is already here. No room for you, unless you arrive at 7am. Then you can relax on their broken, wobbly furniture.
- Adriana PalenciaJune 2, 2016The dulce de leche latte is the best! Great place to study with a group!
- Crystal LeeJune 23, 2011Get there early if you want a table inside. Hipsters dont wake up til the afternoon. ;p Also that hot green tropical green tea is uber potent. dilution might be needed
- It's always really crowded on Sunday afternoons, so be prepared for that. It's a lot easier to find a table on a Saturday!
- Good beer and wine selection. Love their rice krispies and daily cupcakes!
- My Table MagazineMarch 27, 2013Black Hole in Montrose is affectionately dubbed a hipster hangout, but the crowd is actually surprisingly diverse. At any given moment you’ll find... Read more
- Slightly on the expensive side, but there is always a spot to sit unlike some other local shops.
- Great Hou coffee scene addition. Owned by Antidote folks. A bit loud if u come to study. Close to St. Thom. Chocolate cookie to die for.
- Baran KoçJune 19, 2015If you're visiting from Europe, never ever dare to try their croissants. Chocolate croissant has barely chocolate in it and mine was at least 2 days old! Their latte is OK. Cosy atmosphere. Overpriced
- Lindsay SmithJune 2, 2013Their pretzels with bacon jam and whole grain mustard are the bomb dot com.
- Nikki ShowAugust 22, 2013The butter Croissant is perfect! And the iced coffee is also perfect :p yum
- Nicole GoetzJuly 10, 2011Get an iced chai latte with almond milk. Flavor is unreal. 20 times better than if made with regular milk.
- Cool decor, great people watching, good coffee. Awful Wi-Fi. Please fix it!
- This place needs a lot of work. Things to start with: replace the little school children wobbly chairs along the window. Put up decent art along your walls. Say goodbye to the Lohans...
- Best people watching and tons of cute guys in one spot, which is somewhat of a rarity in Houston.
- Genie BeanMay 2, 2011Sunday mornings aren't crowded here. Enjoy a cajeta latte sitting next to one of the large floor-to-ceiling windows!
- Something must be done about the new lighting arrangement, blaring down like heat lamps almost as if to deliberately persuade us to leave or become homegrown.
- It had been a good while since I'd been here but they expanded the outdoor seating. It looks very nice out here!
