- Dave McSeptember 6, 2018Probably one of the coolest places on the planet, but stay away from popular hotels and bus tours. Hire a tuk-tuk by the week and make a plan of what to visit each day staying away from the mobs.
- Phat BuoyOctober 7, 2014Fantastic part of the world - amazing temples in nearby Angkor. Siem Reap has great markets, lovely food and a great selection of bars/nightlife. Love this place
- Russell HirschornOctober 24, 2016$30 per person visa, need ID photo, city is small, need lots of $1 bills, always negotiate, street food not good, good restaurants, spend a full day with a guide in angkor wat to see primay temples
- S PNovember 10, 2016Wonderful place with some marvelous historical archeological sites and temples. Many guides around, but we have found a great one (Mr. Chhey Bunna 017604118 or +855-17604118). Highly recommended.
- Dave McSeptember 6, 2018There's literally two dozen temples here that are a 'must see', you could easily spend 1-2 weeks here. It's better to hire a tuk-tuk to stay with you the whole time and come up with a plan each day.
- Kulen WaterNovember 26, 2018One of the best restaurants i have eaten at in the world. I had the Charolaise steak amazing. My wife had escargot and tartar and said it was also great. The best french restaurant in Siem Reap.
- Dave McSeptember 6, 2018Be careful at the temples deep in the jungle without many tourists. There's still live landmines around so only walk well trodden paths. Finding a secluded place to relive yourself can be dangerous.😳
- Jing EunikeJune 29, 2016First place that I visited when I got to cambodia. Where all the temples, architecture, archaeological, 1week even not enough to explore them
- If you ran out of dollar or riel, try asking the vendor whether they accept your local currency or not (instead of going to money changer). Don't forget to bargain as well!
- BilgeFebruary 22, 2013Keywords: Helloo lady tuktuk?,Massage 1 dollar & buy something. Happy people, smiling faces everywhere. If u want to shop in a less crowded place and find better prices try the Night Art Market.
- Jackie FlemingSeptember 8, 2013Kymer Kitchen down one of the side streets off Pub Streets has the best food I've ever tasted. The market area was mind boggling. Got a rich variety of everything.
- MelissaSeptember 10, 2013Be prepared for rain with a side of rain, lol! If you come during monsoon season, it rains 3 or 4 times a day. Mid September currently, and it seems to rain in 30-60 minute spurts 2-4 hrs apart.
- Kulen WaterNovember 26, 2018One of the best restaurants i have eaten at in the world. I had the Charolaise steak amazing. My wife had escargot and tartar and said it was also great.
- MelissaSeptember 10, 2013If you are here during monsoon season, wear Tevas or Keens (or similar) everywhere. Any other footwear will be ruined. Just go with the rain :)
- People who love photography n history should come here for sure... It feels like you have travelled back in time... Beautiful ancient temples...
- Pamples PEJanuary 26, 2017The Temple-hopping adventure is really tiring but very rewarding. There's alot of tourists though and it's near to impossible to get a picture without them. Be an explorer/traveler not just a tourist.
- BilgeFebruary 25, 2013If you'll come here from Bangkok and get ur visa from Poipet border, u can get ur visa from the border for 600 baht not for 1800 from agent. Also be prepeared for a long journey from border.
- Elvira LaurensiaOctober 19, 2011Bring as many small bill dollar as possible... Every price here is quoted with dollar... But Khmer people speak english very well... Friendly too

- Nam Nắn NótJanuary 9, 2023Small city, French architecture, quite quiet and peaceful, people come here mainly to visit UNESCO's world famous Angkor cultural heritage
- Juan FernandezNovember 6, 2013Extremely touristic. Prices for foreigners are different from prices for locals. Scams everywhere. Pushy tuk-tuk drivers... My second time here in 4 years and I can say it's gotten much worse
- IrinaAugust 23, 2014Don't settle for first quoted price. 90% of time, you'll get ripped off. Don't give your desired price first. Let the seller give his price - at first, it will be 2-3 times what they're expecting.
- IndochinaTravel.comJune 22, 2012Temples are incredible! Food is rich! Nothing like any place you've been to. #cambodia
- Temple guard statue of Tasom temple, Palm tools for souvenir at Tasom temple and elephant statue of east Mebon temple.
- Neethiya PooveneswariJune 2, 2012Can bargain at the night market. It's worth it, otherwise u may find it a lil pricey

- Dave McSeptember 6, 2018Bring a bag of penny candy with you, you'll encounter a lot of kids when exploring and they can point you towards some unknown sites. They seem to have an affinity for ballpoint pens too!
