Die im Januar 2011 eröffnete Ausstellung wurde Ende November 2014 geschlossen und konnte rund 310.000 Besucher verzeichnen. Eine neue Ausstellung folgte ab 17.1.2015 auf dem Gelände der ehemaligen Stasi-Zentrale in Berlin-Lichtenberg.
