Tickets are one-way but allow for transfers between ferry’s within a time-specified limit. Very cool!
Best way to get around when it’s nice out. Cost the same as a subway but the views and air are much nicer. Download the NYC Ferry app to view schedules and buy your tickets in advance.

Just use it for the schedule. The on-site kiosk is easy enough and more trustworthy.
Download the app "NYWaterway"and you'll be able to see schedules and buy tickets directly from your phone.
Pay close attention to what the staff is saying if your route isn't the end of the line. It can be a bit confusing otherwise.
Best ferry stop in Manhattan. There's always another ferry pulling in.
Annie AlfstadJuly 31, 2012This is actually a really beautiful ferry ride. You can see both Manhattan, Harlem, LI City- Queens, Randall's Island and like 5 different bridges.
Gets me to and from Governors Ball every year, so it's good for that.
