Great hotel with a fantastic location central to all kinds of things. The view from the room is awesome too!
The gym is small but decent for a short stay. Rooms are large and the staff are friendly. Not the best Kimpton I've stayed in but nevertheless still an excellent hotel.
This is the perfect hotel -- close to all of the CTA lines, but far enough not to be loud, walk to Michigan Avenue, walk to the waterfront, walk to Union Station, super friendly, pet friendly.
HoMinOctober 25, 2012Make sure you join Kimpton InTouch (loyalty program). It's free to join. You get free wifi, "raid the mini-bar", earn free nights. The Monaco is beautiful! And there is a cushion on the window sill!- Become an InTouch member and get free wifi. We stayed here for my wife's birthday & were treated to a free bottle of wine! We're big Kimpton fans and highly recommend this hotel. Excellent location.

Great customer service. Free happy hour from 5-6pm every evening.
They have free toiletries if you forget things, including toothbrush/toothpaste and fashion tape.

Avoid the rooms that end in 06, especially on higher floors. The elevated train turns a tight corner right outside the window and is loud all night.

Lonely TApril 28, 2011The hotel doesn't have a soda machine, and you really shouldn't raid the mini fridge anyway. Instead, head to the 7-Eleven across the street for late night snacks.
