Bf took me for bday dinner, got tasting menu and was impressed with everything. Favs: peanut soup, hush puppies, bison steak, shrimp with grits. Expensive but worth it for special occasions, so happy!

We had peanut soup, gazpacho, and the bison steak for two, very tasty. The steak was generously portioned, though the soup portion was small. Good selection of American microbrews. Very cool setting.

Don't miss the hush puppies with corn butter! (and stop by to say hi to Trevor at the bar - try a Southside if you dig gin!)

Great service, food & concept! Try the grilled butter oysters & anything w/corn. The key lime pie is also quite special

The gazpacho with lobster is divine. The fried chicken appetizer is also fantastic (pair it with the mushroom catsup).

I recommend that you get lots of starters rather than main courses. Entrees are good but everything else is amazing.

The hush puppies are so very good! A guy at the table next to me said that he was going to come back to try them, based just on the look on my face when I bit into one.

Bitches Say B+. The dishes were small but flavorful, the service was attentive and knowledgeable, and we all feel a whole lot smarter after having eaten there.

For dessert try the New York Cheesecake. Normally I don't like cheesecake, but it's Andrés's reimagining of the American classic. Very light.

Eating at America Eats Tavern is a mini history lesson, as chef Jose Andres worked with the Foundation for National Archives to find and serve recipes from America's history.

great food, atmosphere and service. BUT not the destination for hungry families sight seeing. Portions on the small side for hungry teens...and dads!

The clam chowder is possibly the best I have ever had. It was beautifully arranged too!

This is a "pop up" restaurant, likely to be gone within a year. But a good bourbon selection at the bar. Read more

I find this place's prices to be on the high side. I was definitely misled with "tavern" in the restaurant's name.

Unfortunately mediocre. There is a reason these classic dishes are no longer served. Service was excellent ad expected, but menu was extremely disappointing.
