- JenniferAugust 13, 2014One is the loneliest number -- except if you crave ramen without a wait. I was able to walk right in and order. My perfect bowl includes extra chashu, green chili butter bomb, and corn. Delicious.
- Diana ArzAugust 11, 2017Loved the vibe, the stuff was very attentive and efficient. Great ramen with tons of toppings that come on the side. Tried fried pig 👂, and chicken cartridges! Love that you can order a half portion.
- Derrick VirayJune 19, 2016This place is real busy in the late afternoon and early night. The smell of the food is so intoxicating. Despite the long wait, the Hakata Ramen is soooo on point. DEFINITELY WORTH GOING!!!
- ChristianaFebruary 20, 2017It's always a very long wait so we put our names down, had a beer at Angel City Brewery and came back just in time. You can order hakata ramen with toppings of your choice.
- ChantelJanuary 28, 2016My absolute favorite ramen! You can choose the firmness of the noodle and choose your toppings--flavored eggs, kimchi, spinach, garlic--to be added as you like. Nom nom!
- Stephanie SzetoDecember 27, 2017The ramen is highly customizable - you need to get the add ons to make it awesome. Also, a secret is to ask for your noodles to be "barikata" (extra hard, don't mark anything on the noodle firmness)
- Hayden HoangJuly 9, 2019Shin-Sen-Gumi is the best Japanese place to eat in the area. It’s ramen is fresh and authentic with so much flavour you could almost cry. I would highly recommend this place to everyone.
- Pocket SunSeptember 6, 2014So cheap! You can customize your ramen by choosing the level of saltiness, softness, etc. The broth was a little salty. You can choose all kinds of sides to put in your ramen. I liked the takoyaki.
- Great place to come for any occasion. Get the spicy miso! Also, they don't split checks so bring cash if you're coming with a group.
- Get your ramen with hard noodles for a nice al dente texture. Don't forget to order the spicy miso paste.
- Jean-Claudette FloresOctober 14, 2013I was excited to try this place, but the experience I got was so and so. Service was great, but the ramen fell flat. The broth is pretty oily and I felt a bit sick after. Still a good place though.
- Sam SolakyanJuly 31, 2017I very much appreciate and the service was fast and excellent. I ordered pork ramen, fried onion, and the flavored egg and it was good.
- Gui SeizOctober 19, 2015The toppings menu is pretty mind boggling - hit up the extra Chashu (pork), chilli butter bomb and a poached egg. Job done. 👌🏽
- Jer DawgOctober 10, 2013If you like a excitable and boisterous atmosphere and don't mind not hearing yourself think with workers shouting Japanese every moment then this place is for you. Btw, their ramen is very good...
- Tobie CFebruary 14, 2012Gyoza are these cute little ones. No wonder they order a 12 piece portion. Flavored egg is hard boiled...should have gotten the poached one. Broth is killer...great flavor & the perfect consistency.
- Art DavidApril 14, 2013Loved the Pork cutlet and the fried crispy pork toppings. Must have the spicy miso. Kimchi was a bit salty.
- Philip TamDecember 10, 2014Only thing worth ordering in my view is their standard ramen. Their service is good, and has an authentic vibe. Decent price if you forgo toppings
- BollareNovember 27, 2012It's well worth the journey to Little Tokyo to eat here. After your delicious meal, take a stroll through the Japanese village –Farris
- Be sure to check out all the extra sides; garlic chips chili oil spicy miso extra meats yummy
- Best Ramen in LA. There is a crowd that begins to form after 9pm, since other ramen places close.
- Carlos LopezOctober 21, 2012Staff is amazing. They help you select the best dish if you don't have a clue! Great place. And the food is great.
- Sam SolakyanMarch 15, 2017The staff is friendly, and welcomes everyone with a greeting! I think it's a greeting, but they could be saying, "Hey look at this loser! He's gonna need help reading the menu."
- Make sure to order the garlic oil. It makes the ramen taste amazing.
- JTApril 19, 2016My favorite ramen in LA. Customizable in terms of salt, onion, etc. always delicious
- Yejin YooJuly 12, 2013Clean and cutesy environment! Friendly service too. But I personally think Daikokuya ramen has deeper taste to it.
- Carolina HaroOctober 4, 2013An delicious and trendy ramen dinner experience. I got the large. And I finished it!
- Philip BolayMarch 5, 2014All perfect and delicious. Nice trendy crowd. Great service. Amazing reasonable prices.
- Shannon McknightSeptember 3, 2021The ramen bowl I had was amazing and the kimichi! They also have ginger ale!
- QuiterightlvDecember 12, 2012The strong broth is decent. Noodle comes off with a weak flavor similiar to an italian-angel hair spaghetti. Gyoza not too terribly impressive either. Liked the spicy miso too.
- Hakata ramen. Enough said. I loveeeee this place. One of my go-to places when I visit LA.
- SalvadorNovember 12, 2014Very authentic ramen with delicious broth. Noodles here are some of the best in LA.
- $1 Kiran draft beers during happy hour. Be ready for a wait to get seated though.
- D BOctober 2, 2013Customer service is awesome! I had an unusual request and they handled it with empathy and grace!
- FerranFebruary 16, 2015Stop reading tips about this place. Yes. Go get a ramen now. You're welcome :)
- Eva AguilarApril 9, 2013Love the food and the service. The crispy onion is a must! I'm definitely coming back. :)
- Juston PayneJune 11, 2012Hakata ramen is rich and porky. The 1/2 size is enough for a moderate appetite at lunch.
- They have unlimited original calpico refills. I am a happy guy.
- The Yaki (Pan Fried) hakata ramen is really good if you don't feel like broth. Good alternative.
- Bianca McLarenSeptember 7, 2013Love getting cheers at when we arrived and for our first beer! And food... Amazing
