Don't go to Jacob's Pickles. Go to Oliver! Love the croque monsieur and polenta with sausage for brunch. Poutine and a good stout is so good at night. And they are the NICEST about dogs on the patio.

The grilled cheese itself is a study in buttery sandwich decadence: sharp, pungent cheddar is melted between thick slices of rich brioche that flakes apart with every bite.

Downtown has arrived uptown at this "new favorite" spot on the UWS. Top notch drinks, tasty gastopub food with a great atmosphere make this a place that will exceed expectations seven nights a week.

I LOVE Slightly Oliver. BEST cocktails uptown and the flatbreads are out of this world!!!! I would highly recommend this place for sophisticated palates craving gourmet comfort food.

Onion rings and fried artichokes are fantastic! Drinks are just okay - get an actually tasty $8 punch instead of a $14 "tasty cocktail."

"Slightly Oliver" means slightly drunk in cockney slang. And it is pretty easy to get that way at the sophisticated new Upper West Side bar of the same name. Read more

The cheese plate is about as light as an astronaut in outerspace....but as our waiter pointed out, "I'm sure it was well-deserved."

I really loved their interpretation of Bloody Mary I've got with brunch, but I don't remember the drink's name :(

Good for meetup with buddies for beer, but take the date somewhere with better drinks. The "signature" negroni and "tasty" margarita are pretty bland, which fits in with the food. Stick to the basics.

If you miss the slightly green martini- the tomato and basil is an excellent substitute.

Like everybody says the cocktails are good. Beer though, they serve in these dinky glasses for the same price you'd expect to pay for a full pint.
