They give free tours - visit the council chambers (see pic), mayor's office, learn about all the history.... Unfortunately, my tour guide was very conservative and noted how liberal things are in SF!!

I attended a walking tour by www.sfcityguides.org . To anyone who is curious about why the things are the way they are (names, significance of statues, etc) i strongly suggest the tour.

One of my favorite buildings in SF. That gold leaf on the top? Yeah, that was a million dollar project. Totally worth it though, right? Gorgeous.

Incredible,subtle audio art installation under the dome of city hall. Watch people get married and listen to the acoustic trickery. If you look up you'll see the speaker panels at the very top.
