- Veronica ChaviraJuly 16, 2018I recommend the Horchoffee, vegan horchata with double espresso. Unique items so get adventurous! Popular item to try is the Famed Ricotta Toast. There is a long line and street parking only.
- Mohammed AlrabahNovember 27, 2016Long line but moves pretty fast. Around 30 mins wait. Green Eggs and Jam is a must try. French toast (Brioche stuffed with jam and baked) was so good.
- Serious EatsJanuary 21, 2014Every single menu item is delicious. If you can't decide, anything topped with jam will be a winner.
- Hadeel OmerOctober 27, 2019Crispy rice salad is a must! That’s mainly the reason I go to Sqirl every weekend. The rainbow famed ricotta toast is to die for. Also, try the honeycomb cookie and the malva pudding cake. Just YUM!
- Gustav Von SydowJanuary 7, 2019If your idea of a great lunch is to fight for parking, stand in line and watch delicious dishes come by, then eat said food 🥘 only to discover it’s even tastier than it looks, well, this is for you.
- EaterDecember 20, 2016Yes, you’re going to have to wait in line, but is there a more LA experience than digging into SQIRL’s ricotta toast with housemade seasonal jam (and Instagramming it after)?
- Melon LAugust 6, 2015Don't be intimidated by the line. It moves pretty fast. Don't miss the ricotta toast (w/generous ricotta) though it may come a little burnt. Order couple small items and share with a friend!
- Meredith BlechmanJuly 18, 2015Must order: Brioche/baguette with jam. If you leave here without getting this, your life will be incomplete. Buy some jam to go, so when you start dreaming about it, you can get your fix.
- EpicuriousOctober 7, 2014Four bucks nets you a thick slice of brioche topped with rich ricotta cheese & jam with options like raspberry-vanilla & blueberry-rhubarb. And it is actually worth those four dollars. Probably more. Read more
- Delicious cold brew and hot coffee. You can skip the line and go to the front if you want your drink to go. For food I'm all about the pesto bowl as a salad (kale instead of rice) with an extra egg.
- Ameen AqeelDecember 28, 2015The sorrel rice bowl was delicious (you might consider an extra egg), the buckwheat pancake was also unique, on the way out grab one of the coconut, date & seeds balls for a tasty treat with a coffee.
- Betty Kuo BrintonOctober 28, 2017The most delicious bread and jam combo in the city. All fresh, all the time. Come before 9:30am and the wait is just fine. Even if you don’t have rice a rice bowl, the veggie ones are just as divine.
- Bitches Who BrunchSeptember 8, 2016The Bitches say: A. Brave the line at this funky LA eatery and get ready to carboload on some of the best toast on the Left Coast. Take the LAisms with a grain of salt + be prepared to see and be seen Read more
- Sahar AJanuary 6, 2017Don't miss the turmeric soda, green eggs & jam tartine, or seared polenta. The chocolate & (hazel)nut butter (brioche) toast is heavy, I would have preferred it w/ jam (they're made in-house). Enjoy!
- ℳ𝒶𝓎♍August 14, 2015A hip organic small hole-in-the-wall with various salads, sautés, sandwiches & lattes. Sqirl specializes in decadent toast offerings amongst other healthy dishes. Makes an ideal stop for brunch
- Condé Nast TravelerOctober 19, 2016“I’m happy to wait in line to get my hands on my favorite Sqirl triumvirate: sorrel pesto rice bowl, brioche toast with ricotta and Blenheim apricot jam, with a turmeric tonic.” - Fiorella Valdesolo Read more
- Caitlin TaylorMarch 20, 2016French toast!!! Also the sorrel pesto rice bowl. The French toast is huge and the jam that comes with it is (in my opinion) a great alternative to syrup.
- Jennifer HaackSeptember 8, 2017The french toast and coffee are amazing. The also have a bunch of bowls to choose from. The lemon risotto is not my thing, but very unique.
- Emily WilsonMarch 11, 2016Order the sorrel pesto rice bowl with half kale, half rice and add avocado. Also get an iced matcha to go with it.
- Kathryn AndersonJanuary 24, 2019Dynamic flavors reign supreme. Don’t miss the brioche toast with seasonal jam or the bacon! I started to dig in before taking a picture.
- Getting here before 9am won't guarantee a short line, but you'll need all that extra time to decide what to eat. Everything on the menu is delicious.
- Gregol GratisOctober 29, 2014Espresso is pricey compared to the other baristas fanatic places, but well prepared (served in a glass the Spanish way). Curred salmon on toast is beautiful and tasty. The place is cute and trendy!
- Guittard Chocolate and Hazelnut Toast is *intense* and good to split. Try the brown rice porridge or anything that has a fried egg!
- c0uPNovember 29, 20151. Get the pesto rice bowl 2. Get the squash hash. 3. Put the hash on the rice bowl. 4. Proceed to food heaven.
- Jam. Try anything with the housemade jam here! The scones are amazing, as well as the rice porridge. For full review of this place, please check out my food blog www.gofindalice.com/blog/sqirl-la 🍴
- Antonis StathisNovember 25, 2018Very tasty sorrel rice bowl(don't forget the hot sauce). Brioche ricotta toast....ok. Super friendly and cool staff!
- RainbeauDecember 27, 2018It’s worth the wait and annoying part-time food bloggers. The sorrel rice bowl is one of my favorite dishes, ever.
- Amelia ManiMay 4, 2016Turmeric tonic and pretty much anything on the menu. You can't really go wrong. Get there SUPER early otherwise the wait is at least 45 min.
- Abel Bortolotti GarzaNovember 22, 2016Really nice place, probably it will look "crowded" but the waiting time isn't that long. You have to try the ricotta toast with strawberry jam.
- Global HighlanderSeptember 30, 2015Great Famous Damus Breakfast Sandwich (on ciabatta with soft scramble, surryano ham, arugula), and excellent Cold Brew Coffee.
- ブルーノMay 19, 2016Tiny place, yet super popular. Good coffee and some great options to choose from the menu. Not sure if this place deserves all the hype but still, it's pretty good. Getting a seat it's kinda tricky.
- Tasting TableApril 21, 2016Sqirl Kitchen is the perfect spot to stop for authentic, homemade food. By far, the best thing to try if you're a first timer is the ricotta brioche toast. Read more
- Jeffrey SJuly 27, 2013The creative genius behind Sqirl is Jessica Koslow. She is very down-to-earth and a lovely person. Make sure to say hello when you visit.
- Kartik SathappanNovember 5, 2016We had the McKofta sandwich and the brioche toast with ricotta. The sandwich and toast were top notch! The ricotta was good but not great.
- Rachel KJanuary 15, 2018Food is pretty good, though impossible parking and such a long line to order. Add halloumi cheese to the rice bowl if you really like cheese.
- Jose BMarch 9, 2017Great food! Nice, informal vibe. A bit crowded on weekends. Their lacto-fermented hot sauce is awesome!
- Ariel MortmanNovember 12, 2017Worth the line. The famous French toast with ricotta a jam is the best part. And the crispy Pesto rice
- Kevin GarciaJuly 17, 2017Delicious food. True California cuisine that you can only get in LA. Don't forget the bacon!
- Pooja Shah TaleraApril 6, 2018The AVO toast of course. The hot matcha latte was done sooo well! Worth the wait, but try to get there early.
- Heather VelezSeptember 5, 2015They can do no wrong here. Ricotta toast + crispy rice salad + sorrel pesto rice bowl are the stuff dreams are made of.
- Connie ChiuDecember 16, 2017Long line and wait for food, but worth trying. The famed ricotta toast was good, though the toast itself was too bready. The sorrel rice bowl is very lemony. Add some bacon 👌🏽 horchoffee was meh.
- Tom ChattSeptember 11, 2015Zagat recommends the savory rice porridge topped with sorrel pesto, preserved Meyer lemon, lacto-fermented hot sauce, radishes, feta and a poached egg.
- Raphael LangenscheidtOctober 24, 2015Fantastic little place. Totally worth the wait. Breakfast sandwich is solid and the rice bowls are delicious. Ricotta toast is insane, too.
- AmateurConciergeJanuary 3, 2018Great, fresh, healthy fare makes you feel extra LA. Great breakfast options
