- Christina HuJuly 1, 2014Hakata Tonkatsu! Broth is made from hours of stewing pork bones and gives the soup a creamy, tasty consistency. Pork belly slices just melt in your mouth. There's always a wait but it's well worth it!
- Nicole ChecoNovember 7, 2015Really good ramen and their rice bowls are worth going back for. I wasnt that impressed with pork buns but their boneless fried chicken is delicious. Plus: good service and not a big ass line to go in
- Serious EatsAugust 30, 2013Fantastic broth, excellent noodles, friendly service, and prices about 1/3 lower than any of its closest competitors, not to mention the lack of an hour-long wait to get in (for now)?
- Best ramen in the area & best value in the city. The restaurant is small, but the wait goes quickly. No 2 hour+ waits like some of the city's more popular spots. I like the Tonkatsu, but it's all good
- LibbyFebruary 28, 2015The spicy ramen& the pork buns are delicious. This is my go to ramen spot in the area. I like the taste of Totto Ramen in hells kitchen is better, but there is no wait at Jin Ramen& it's still tasty
- Michelin recommended ramen magic! Its a never ending battle for me between the spicy tonkotsu and miso ramens. Try the pork buns, and cha-shu fried rice. Rice bowls are also killer. Its all legit!
- Emily BennettSeptember 3, 2017Easily the best spot for specialty ramen. The kimchi ramen is spicy yet perfectly balanced as far as taste. The chashu fried rice is perfect to split, or just a cheap and light meal by yourself.
- MeliMarch 23, 2015This little hidden gem is phenomenal. Delicious ramen by Columbia for the students. It's no Totto ramen, but it's good for the price, location to CU, short wait times, and great service.
- DailyCandyJanuary 14, 2014Columbia University-adjacent ramen-ya specializes in creamy, Hakata-style pork bone broth. Best showcased in the tonkotsu ramen, with a house-made roasted garlic paste and tender braised pork slices.
- DanielleAugust 3, 2014Awesome friendly staff. The pork buns are the best I've EVER had. Green beans are light and refreshing. Great change of pace from soy beans. And the ramen... A+ (obviously I couldn't eat it all)
- Christina HagopianNovember 27, 2012My husband spent 6 yrs in Japan and if this place gets his thumbs up, it means a lot. Kara-ge, pork buns, gyu-don, & spicy tonkotsu ramen-- all excellent. We will be back to try the rest of the menu.
- the spicy vegetarian miso broth is outstanding! ..the noodles were good, not great... def worth the visit for any vegetarian in love with ramen!
- Jin Ramen has been one of the most popular restaurants in the area since it's opened. Reason being the ramen is delicious, the service is efficient & the price is right!
- Amanda LeazerDecember 20, 2014Their Ramen is delicious, but their rice bowls are my favorite. Got the fresh salmon one and it was down right amazing, hooked me right away! I am now a loyal Jin customer!
- Haunted by their spicy tonkatsu ramen, I'm no longer dissuaded by the Papyrus-set menu. Dine with a partner, split this and hiyashi chuka. Kara-age is perfect with some lemon and togarashi.
- On weekends, the wait can be pretty long, especially when the Columbia students come down the hill for the tasty and inexpensive ramen. They need to work on the sake available.
- Michael HarrisAugust 17, 2016Place is so legit. Their pork based ramen dishes are out of this world. Also love their pork buns as a starter.
- MarcApril 16, 2014Tasting Table's Top Ramen NYC: Spicy tonkotsu ramen, "springy noodles... wonderfully creamy pork-bone broth, spiked with an umami-rich chile-garlic paste, and wobbly chashu."
- Lori LuoAugust 11, 2014Respectable ramen in Harlem? Order the Tonkotsu (Spicy, if possible) and you'll see what I mean. The broth is on the saltier side, though.
- Daniel JihDecember 1, 2012Start off with pork buns. Chef recommends adding the cole slaw inside the bun. Try the spicy tonkatsu ramen. Fantastic for a cold December day. Add some sweet corn for nice texture.
- Ivan ZimnukhovApril 12, 2013Food is great, staff friendly, ambience nice. No line if you come before 6 pm. What's weird is that a bowl of tonkotsu ramen and a glass of beer literally made me high. Do they use meth for seasoning?
- Chef Mark works hard to make delicious food. The noodles are perfectly cooked and the broth is just right. The kani salad and kara-age are awesome starters. Get the vanilla ice cream for dessert.
- Jackie LuoAugust 7, 2014Best ramen I've had in New York! I have yet to try Ippudo and Toto and the other big places, but Jin is close to Columbia and really affordable.
- Alice AndersenDecember 28, 2014Decent cheap ramen with super friendly service! Insider's tip: if it's packed (often is), just pop next door to Kissaten their sister restaurant for some soba noodles or a rice bowl.
- April WallogaFebruary 12, 2014My second favorite ramen in the city - Totto is #1. I get the spicy tonkotsu with corn, enoki mushrooms, and extra pork. They make their own noodles. Legit.
- Nicholas DoyleFebruary 22, 2013Spicy Tonkatsu: I didn't love it at first, but it grew on me. Great, but not as good as Ipuddo. Had the Shio and Shoyu. They're nowhere near as good. The Kano Salad is tasty, but perhaps overhyped.
- Yervant KJune 9, 2017Pork buns are a must. Go to dish is always the miso ramen. Incredible food & service everytime.
- Ethan FudgeAugust 6, 2013Yes, the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen is redonk. But, Jin has the BEST drink special in Morningside. A pitcher of delicious soju sangria for $24? That's about $3 each for 7-8 refreshing cocktails.
- The Corcoran GroupJuly 9, 2013Start your meal off with the pork buns, and then finish it off with the Spicy Tonkotsu ramen - you won't regret it!
- Arjun Shivanand KannanDecember 11, 2016Vegetarian ramen is great. Try the miso broth for an additional kick of spice!
- Saba NekoSeptember 21, 2016Spicy tonkatsu ramen and kimchi ramen are great. Also if there's too long a wait Jin kissaten next door is pretty good!
- Takes a while to get a table. The spicy tonkatsu by far outclasses every other ramen selection. The pork buns are also delicious.
- Karoline SchwartzAugust 31, 2013Pass on the dumplings and pork buns. Get yourself a kani salad and tonkatsu ramen. So creamy and delicious.
- New York PostSeptember 16, 2014Soup aficionados noodle around at Jin Ramen’s broth-tastic Harlem location. An Upper West Location is opening soon. Read more
- Lisa TongDecember 19, 2013One of the best ramen I've tasted! Noodles were a bit too soft though. Karaage chicken was crispy yet moist on the inside. Will come again!
- Get Tonkotsu with spicy on the side - mix in for perfect level of heat
- Fatima KhalidFebruary 2, 2013The wait is incredibly long. Prepare to wait at least an hour!! The front door would be less awkward if it was push from the inside. The food was great though, simply delicious.
- Thomas PajorJune 21, 2015The pork buns here are excellent and really juicy. The broth of the Shio Ramen lacked a bit of depth in my opinion.
- Mia ADecember 15, 2017The vegetarian shoyu miso ramen is spectacular! Delicious broth, just as good as the meat ones.
- Epic ramen spot! The tonkatsu is a favorite, extra pork and egg
- @JaumePrimeroJuly 8, 2013Jin is actually right next to the 125th Street station on the 1 train, and its definitely worth the trip uptown. Just as good as Ippudo.
- Francisco TorresMay 27, 2016Katsu curry is well done but the plate and spoon are a pain. They serve it in a bento box with a ramen spoon... Would have been better with a simple metal spoon.
- Zara RahmanSeptember 3, 2015The Kimchi ramen will most definitely take me back there again...and again...and again...
- Erika PerziJune 30, 2016Mushroom broth ramen is amazing, just the right amount of heat and the noodles are perfect.
- This place is the real deal ramen -- no fluff. Excellent seaweed salad. Could be spicier -- I got the spiciest on the menu and it was not that hot.
- Dan KaoMarch 22, 2014Stuck pretty far uptown and hankering for ramen? This is the place to go. Awesome selection of Japanese beers too
