My fave! Best happy hour in #eastvillage (maybe #nyc)! The math of the Frozen Rosalita: 1FR = tipsy. 2FR = drunk. 3FR = really drunk. 4FR = blackout. Guacamole is perfect. Food is incredible. #nyceats
Happy hour value =incredible with $6 food items and drinks. 1 of the best guacs and sopes I've had esp the $6. Guac is $11 beyond 8pm. Chile relleno was huge n light with spinach, raisins, pine nuts.
Great, lively brunch spot! Go for the Torta de Pollo: ancho-marinated grilled chicken served on a toasted roll with Chihuahua cheese, black beans, avocado, pickled jalapeño, and a mixed green salad.
The brunch is worth every penny. Order the frozen hibiscus drink over the Margs. I love the brunch egg dish with the plantains. And if you come here for any meal, can't go wrong with the guac.
Happy Hour times here vary by location but include cheap eats like guacamole, flautas de pollo, quesadillas and taquitos San Andres; classic margaritas, sangria and frozen Rosalitas are $6. Read more
I still think about their bloody marys from time to time. Perfectly spicy and the wait staff is NOT slow on the refills. You will leave turnt. Everything else...just okay. Go guac and go cocktails.
Fonda has one of the best happy hours in the city, including discounted margaritas and wine, as well as a solid line up of Mexican bites, including taquitos, guacamole, and quesadillas.
I was with BFF - watermelon margarita has a nice spicy kick! Huge guacamole with crispy & soft tortillas, red snapper dish with salsa. Great service and ambiance.
Usually pretty pricey so come for the happy hour (all night on Mondays and 5-7pm daily) for $6 guacamole, flautas de pollo, quesadillas, taquitos, $6 margs and rosalitas, $4 beer, $5 wine
Loved the atmosphere and vibes - food was super filling and delicious, guac was spiced well and skirt steak was a phenomenal... staff was very pushy and rushed our dinner along!!
Great brunch here, tasty foods, great window seating, some good sidewalk seating and a little short on bathrooms. Great for a small group up front and a big group in the back.
Great Mexican food in NYC: weird. Fonda delivers what may be the best Mexican meal I've had in recent memory. Guacamole is stellar as well as the flautas. Come before 8 for an awesome Happy Hour.
Great bottomless brunch and solid food. Their drinks are strong and go well with the huevos rancheros. Festive atmosphere and overall great restaurant! Good for a group.
Chile rellenos stuffed with spinach (no cheese inside, no batter outside) topped with goat cheese, in a fabulous red sauce. THIS IS HOW CHILE RELLENOS SHOULD BE DONE. Superb dish.
Some of the better Mexican cuisine in lower Manhattan. Ask them to spice up the pineapple margarita, get some guac and whatever entree strikes your fancy
Wonderful staff. I dream often of the mole. The piña is out of control good. In a town that suffers from a dearth of good Mexican, Fonda makes up for it! Makes me super happy!
Awesome brunch. Definitely do the bottomless and rotate between the hibiscus margarita (very strong) and the classic mimosa then go sit in a park somewhere
Really solid brunch w drinks included. If you ask nicely, they'll serve the excellent micheladas as part of the special. Haven't had anything that's not delicious
Village Voice is proud to welcome Fonda to the 2014 Choice Eats food fest! http://bit.ly/1cRzdNV. Wash down the spicy guacamole with a refreshing margarita.
