Becca HApril 14, 2014Very cool bridge but the pedestrian lanes are very narrow so be careful when walking or running with headphones because there might be a cyclist behind you.
Avoid the bridge at 3:55 pm and 6:05 pm- they can't open it between 4 and 6 for traffic, so just before and after there's usually boats waiting that'll make it raise...

Cops like to sit at the corner of the first street just north of the bridge. On the east side of 15th.
Don't try to drive over the bridge when its going up. Your car will NOT make the jump, and all that underwater car training does no good with electric windows and a concussion from the impact
Manuel WMarch 17, 2013Turn off the car. Contrary to popular belief, restarting your car does not burn more fuel than leaving it idling. In fact, idling for just 10 seconds wastes more gas than restarting the engine.
Report the oil spills to the US Coast Guard that you see coming from a derelict fishing vessel moored at Fishermen's Terminal.
Don't plan on getting over the bridge quickly in the summer.
When it goes up expect a major traffic jam! 🚌🚒🚑🚕🚐🚗🚒🚛🚚
It's best to buy the Mayor a beer if you see her. She will permit you with a "No wait for the Bridge" pass.
Someone tell me why I pay to drive across 520 but boats gets a free pass under the bridge?
- Try to avoid stopping if the bridge goes up. If the lights are blinking yellow, put your foot down. It takes forever!
Don't drive when the bridge is up; you'll go in the water.

Sit in traffic and watch the spinning class at LA Fitness
Use the Fremont bridge instead. This one is up way too much and currently down to one lane north bound. Boooo
Please turn off your engines while you wait for your cars.
