The ferry used to be free, but now it's $2. Unless you get there before noon on the weekends, then it's free.

This ferry is quick + very direct, it is free with NYC or military or student ID... but not as nice or comfy - compared to city ferry, with food and drinks for sale!

Been here 5+ times
Careful: they check bags for alcohol before boarding on the weekends. If you want to bring wine for your picnic take the ferry from Wall St or Brooklyn instead.

Horrible when it’s time to go home after a festival or rave. Always leave 10 minutes before the last performance so you can beat the crowd. Trust me on this one. Your body and friends will thank you

FYI: The ferry is no longer free! Granted it's only $2 roundtrip for adults, but the fact that they charge now was not highly publicized.

very rude staff: guy didn’t allow us to stay in the shade with the baby while we were waiting for the ferry, he used ghetto-style language to make us go away.
