Die Weltfriedensglocke im Volkspark Friedrichshain wurde 1989 auf Initiative der japanischen World Peace Bell Association aufgestellt. Die Einweihung des Glockentempels fand am 1. September 1989, dem 50. Jahrestag des Beginns des Zweiten Weltkrieges, statt.
