Great memorial, only disappointed in the people who thought they could dip their feet and bodies in the water, it's not a public pool! No park serv. Rep. to monitor

Order: Delaware (1st state to ratify the U.S. Constitution). To the left is the second, Pennsylvania. Then the order goes back and forth /right and left, around the circle, as each entered the Union.

As long as there aren't undisciplined children running around, this is probably my favorite of the memorials on the Mall. Come anytime sunset or after for the best experience.

States not sorted based on the Pacific and Atlantic sections. Think about it: where would Illinois fit into that categorization? The pillars represent the Pacific and European battles.
