Joy, thy name is Calder--esp in the genius of the Frieze Masters' Helly Nahmad exhibit. There's Calder, & then there's Calder curated to perfection. Two dimensions don't do it justice. Go!!!

The intimate power of this Luti pastel & its brother at Jean-Luc Baroni's Frieze Master's booth could toppled any Fragonard-soured recoil you have from 18th-c portraiture.

Ah, Yves Klein blue...but ask at Frieze Masters to see his more darkly sensuous anthropomorphic sienna work in the back room of Galerie Gmurzynska. You'll gain a whole new perspective on the artist.

Altho ArtInfo beat me to the punch, with "A Vanitas" Daniel Katz perfectly melds old & new at Frieze Masters--tho Damien Hirst would likely target religion, not learning.

Very grown up, not a huge fan of the stall layout. Wish I'd been at the art fair

Nearly as beautiful as Caravaggio's The Taking of Christ
