- Shirley LiuOctober 10, 2015Awesome Izakaya, my faves were the pork belly and bacon mochi. Ramen is good as well, spicy and garlic are the best options. Like this spot because there are so many different options.
- Elizabeth BursteinMarch 31, 2017The uni rice tapas plate was amazing for happy hour. The garlic ramen was passable, not special. Go back for happy hr and order tapas - pork belly and Michu bacon were rich for me but v popular.
- Tasting TableDecember 15, 2014A proper izakaya should be filled with boozy after-work colleagues, homey and fried dishes, and a good amount of noise. This place has all of that, get little things like ochazuke or tonpei-yaki. Read more
- Caroline JackMay 18, 2015You'll leave with a smile on you face! Check out their trending list before you order. Nikumaki onigiri, beef stew, chicken skin yakitori, chicken curry hot pot = very scrummy. Best find of the month!
- BommyFebruary 27, 2016Mediocre. Yaki onigiri is crispy and delicious. Skip the kimchee pork kamameshi: all rice, as well as the okonomiyaki. Uni and soft-boiled egg is texturally weird but still, it's uni so still tasty.
- LisaMarch 8, 2015The food is much better than the first time we went two years ago! Get the roku chicken wings. I like it better than San Tung's! I like the spicy ramen and agedashi tofu as well
- Simon WillisonNovember 16, 2016The Aburi Shimesaba (lightly seared vinegared mackerel) is utterly delicious, and is seared at your table with a blow torch!
- tablehopperAugust 3, 2014Dishes I’d order again include corn tempura, the devil tofu, and the utterly delicious nikumaki onigiri. And not a single one of these dishes costs more than $7. Read more
- Solid choice for izakaya in the city, the best in my opinion. Yakitori, kamameshi, and grilled fish are all on point. Accepts reservations on OpenTable
- Nancy TranJuly 6, 2015I love the nikumaki onigiri, but don't be surprised if it arrives after you've finished your meal. Good, solid bowl of ramen and tasty yakitori options, too.
- Time Out San FranciscoFebruary 22, 2018The spot is known for its Japanese tapas-style small plates—heavy on skewers and a range of bite-sized fried snacks that pair well beer and sake—as well as its ramen. Read more
- Jessica FengJuly 4, 2013Ramen is comparable to Ramen Dojo. The red ramen comes with spicy pork, which tastes like Korean BBQ! Small restaurant, so you might want to make a reservation on a busy day.
- Shirley LiuMay 8, 2014Try the spicy tonkatsu ramen and bring a group so you can partake in some of their other interesting options like their pizzas and izakaya options
- Kat 🐱January 18, 2016Delicious chicken skin yakitori and chicken wings! Garlic ramen and spicy clam soup are not as good as I expected.
- Chicken katsu curry here is one of those things I crave every now and then. Great sake too.
- Jeffrey KaoNovember 25, 2015Okonomiyaki is great. Good vibes and friendly staff. Be prepared for a wait, though
- Anton LopyrevDecember 28, 2015Get the mochi bacon. Don't ask any questions. It's an orgasm wrapped in bacon.
- m dDecember 5, 2015Friendly service and Japanese style foods. Especially Yaki-Onigiri!! I love it here.
- Shaheen KabirDecember 21, 2014Heated Japanese toilet seat FTW. Short rib yakitori is pretty awesome too.
- Great small plates including kimchee, stuffed mushroom, and cucumbers with pickled plum.
- The kimchi pork is delicious, as is the uni rice if you're fond of uni.
- Jeff NicholsonMarch 26, 2013Great authentic Japanese - every dish is great. Try the fried chicken - yeah, that's right!
- They have Shiro(white, pork broth), Kuro(black, burnt miso), and Aka(Red, spicy)
- Jenny LumJune 7, 2013Hotate butter is delicious. Great yakitori. Ramen is just okay - good noodles, so-so broth.
- John Mark AgostaFebruary 18, 2013Nouvelle Japanese. To coin a phrase. Salmon carpaccio stuffed shiitake
- Chuck RoslofJanuary 21, 2016Decent, 3.5⭐️ ramen. Not outstanding, but a solid and satisfying option.
