- For anyone renting hertz more than two or three times a year, sign up for Gold membership. Quick in, quick out, very little waiting.

- Use the kiosks and interact with a remote customer service rep. The future is now!
- If you upgrade, be sure you ask for unlimited mileage. I got a camaro for a good price, then got hammered on the mileage. You don't get unlimited mileage unless u haggle
- Generally like Hertz, but the new shuttle bus approach at LAX sucks. Picking up and dropping off on the same route is chaotic and slow, especially for us United passengers.

- Bus to airport can take up to 30 minutes if the airport is congested. Plan accordingly.

- Give yourself extra time on the shuttle into LAX. Traffic will eat into it, especially if you are out of United, Terminal 7.

- The self check-in kiosks are all down and limited staff at night. Be prepared to wait for up to 30 mins.
