Hal KirklandApril 4, 2013Don't show up at Hertz asking for a rental if you're on fire. They have major issues with open flame regardless of what their bright yellow uniforms and hair extensions imply.

Sean MeehanJanuary 12, 2012Dropping a car is easy. Remember your mileage, leave your keys in the vehicle, and use the kiosk near the airport busses. Prints your receipt in a few seconds.
For anyone renting hertz more than two or three times a year, sign up for Gold membership. Quick in, quick out, very little waiting.

Use the kiosks and interact with a remote customer service rep. The future is now!- If you upgrade, be sure you ask for unlimited mileage. I got a camaro for a good price, then got hammered on the mileage. You don't get unlimited mileage unless u haggle
Generally like Hertz, but the new shuttle bus approach at LAX sucks. Picking up and dropping off on the same route is chaotic and slow, especially for us United passengers.

Samantha RogelApril 14, 2013I have never had to wait in such a long line before to rent or return my car. It took over an hour to get my car, then when I returned it the directions were impossible to find.
Bus to airport can take up to 30 minutes if the airport is congested. Plan accordingly.

AlastairSeptember 27, 2012Being made to feel like an inconvenience is always a pleasure; remember to smile like an idiot at the service counter.- Give yourself extra time on the shuttle into LAX. Traffic will eat into it, especially if you are out of United, Terminal 7.
I suppose having a reservation doesn’t mean that there will be actual cars available
The self check-in kiosks are all down and limited staff at night. Be prepared to wait for up to 30 mins.

Brett FriedmanApril 23, 2013The rep was nice, but the wait was awful for a car I had already paid for online. It was not clear that I could use the kiosk, I thought it was just for making a reservation. What a waste of an hour.
Worth it to add Gold service, I've never wait since joining.
