Kara NortmanJuly 30, 2010Lines vary widely from 1 hour to no wait, nearly impossible to predict. Either spring for bus select or get here early. Even tears and babies don't help speed up the process if the line is endless
Ethan LiJanuary 28, 2023Use the TSA checkpoint in Terminal 1.5, at the far left end. It's empty all day.
Preferred line is always fairly fast. Tack right for security line after ID check as they are shorter although they appear longer.

Southwest always has a long line for check in. Get here early-chill:)

TSA set up needs improvement. Long line reminds me of McCarran in Vegas but they entertain with videos. Southwest, please prove set up
- Allow at least 20 minutes to clear TSA. It seems to take twice as long to clear TSA @SouthwestAir vs. @AmericanAir at Terminal 4 @LAX_Official

Avoid Terminal 1 for any early morning flights. Security line is longer than The Odyssey.
1st come 1st out. Lax worse airport ever. Make sure to leave time for security gate. Hostage otherwise
