- Vasuki SrinivasanDecember 1, 2013Chinatown to O'Hare is so easy. Take the Red line at Chinatown, transfer to Blue line at Jackson. $2.50 compared to $45 for cab! It takes almost same time as road traffic! Thanks CTA!Upvoted Jan 31
- Aimee AimeeOctober 26, 2013Fare is $5 when taking the train from O'Hare airport. All other fares are less, about $2.50. Beats a $50 cab ride to downtown.Upvoted 3 weeks ago
- William Baker IIIJuly 20, 2013NewCTA Fare for O'hare is $5.00. Get a Chicago pass if you are visiting its cheaper!Upvoted Mar 15
- All trains go downtown. The best way to know what train leaving next is by looking at the blue boxes hanging between the train. There are arrows on the end pointing to the next train out the station.
- Andrew CAugust 15, 2019Best way to get to/from downtown Chi... quick tap of the Ventra card and you're on your way -- convenient location near T2, easy transfer/walk to other terminals too!!!
- Alexander SultanFebruary 15, 2013Cheapest way to get downtown. Fare has gone up to $5 if the train originates from O'Hare
- Colin LordSeptember 20, 2018If you don't want to stand in line for a card, you can use Apple Pay at the gate now.
- Jon CannellaJanuary 13, 2014I love the CTA trains and buses, you can get almost anywhere you want from anywhere in the city!! Always reliable and on time, can't beat it for less then $3.00!!!
- Be prepared to navigate stairs with your luggage. Sign of things to come as some stops on the blue line don't have elevators
- Buck TownJune 7, 2013It's now $5 to ride, and the machines aren't giving change. Bring small bills or you're putting $20 on your fare card.
- Vulgar FractionAugust 8, 2013They get you for $5 at this station for no reason. ALWAYS buy a one day pass (or more) from the machine if you don't have an unlimited transit card.
- Pay attention to which train cars have their lights on. Not every car in the station leaves with the train.
- Fares will be going up to $5.00 coming up from here only
- If you don't want to annoy others.....stay on the right if you stand on the escalator. There are many people that want to get to work in the airport and it's only kind to let them pass on the left.
- Stephen RothMarch 29, 2014If you want an escort to your gate, just wait for the next out-of-control "L". But don't stand too close to the escalator, or you might get run over.
- For tourist- there is only one line out of the airport. It connects to other cta line in Jackson and Clark/lake stations. 2.25 fare.
- Like shirley says its worth paying 2.25 to get on the blue line than taking a taxi
- When they say last call for boarding that means get on the train at the closets door to you, otherwise their leaving without you!
- Dylan RebillotOctober 22, 2012CTA is definitely better during rush hour as you'll sit in traffic for at least 1.5 hours to get downtown.
- Brad ThorsonAugust 8, 2011Fun to blow past the cars on the freeway. Transfer to red line at jackson for most lakeshore destinations.
- When boarding the middle train, check the monitors to see what side it is boarding on!
- Raine BergstromOctober 29, 2010It is cheap but there are a lot of stops between downtown and airport.
- It's only $2.25 one way to get to downtown Chicago. Beats $40 and traffic on the Kennedy.
- Not really on Bessie Coleman Drive....it's in the Airport proper, lower level Bus/Shuttle Center. Follow the signs in the Airport to "Trains to the City".
