- David OstrowMarch 25, 2018When its working, CTA redline is fastest and cheapest N/S public transportation. More reliable since major rebuilding of Central section, but rebuild of No section scheduled for next 4-5 years!Upvoted Feb 14
- Dana JensenDecember 16, 2014Last chance to bail on the northbound red line before Wrigleyville. Puts you close walking distance from pretty much anything you could need besides a convenient grocery store.Upvoted Feb 16
- The Purple Line has more seats and is less crowded than the Brown Line, but it goes the opposite way around the loop.Upvoted 2 days ago
- Transfer point for the Red, Purple, & Brown line trains. During weekday rush periods, catch the northbound Purple Line running express to Howard! A time saver.:-)
- This is where your night begins, continues or ends. Party central especially on holidays and weekends!
- If u ever need to get a fifth of vodka, grilled cheese, movie poster, and yeast infection in your eye...this is the place.
- Kellen TerrettSeptember 27, 2014The bird poop is fantastic. Come on a Friday night at 1 am for the best entertainment in all of lakeview. Fantastic when Cubs games are happening!
- #77 or Brown Line to Southport or Paulina? Look 4 trains & Westbound bus from East platform! Check traffic & figure which will be fastest. Plenty of time if you see the bus to run down and catch it!
- Both platforms have exits down to George street at the far south end, if you either don't want or need to walk along Belmont. Ignore the pointless "Emergency Exit Only" signs on the doors, just push.
- Busy transfer station with multiple trains, plus the Belmont & Clark busses nearby. The area has good food, shops, & entertainment (The Annoyance theater) nearby.
- Antonio DJuly 25, 2010If going south on redline and you missed purple or brown train get off and look south if u see either train you'll catch it @ fullerton by staying on redline train TRUST ME
- Busy, but they do a good job of keeping things moving
- William GlesenerDecember 18, 2014Lot of stuff here. Shopping is catered to the sexually open-minded and gamers.
- If the train is full if you wait for the next train (4 minutes) it won't be as crowded
- Ryan JusticeJanuary 3, 2012I want everyone to imagine before you post your trivial complaints that you are complaining to a small, starving Ethiopia child. First world problems much?
- If taking the Belmont 77 bus west toward Ashland .... walk to the stairs on the north side of platform; save yourself a game of frogger
- After Cubs games it is a lot easier to get on at Belmont than at Addison and if you're headed downtown skip the Red Line all together and go Brown!
- There are escalators on the left & right hand side of the terminal upon entering. The left hand side is going to Howard, the right one to 95th/Dan Ryan.
- Samantha RangelJanuary 27, 2015Rub the one eyed monster for luck! (It's the only tiled face with one eye found where the northbound and southbound stairways intersect)
- The view of 1000 liqour just makes me want to drink.
- Common sense: You never really know when YOUR train will be late... Triple check your times, but still leave yourself a 15 minute window
- 9:22 pm on a Friday, two southbound reds, two northbound reds, NO EFFING BROWN LINE TRAINS. fyi
- Its a perfect late night stop. Grilled cheese and big shitty
- Avoid playing Frogger on Belmont Avenue if you're catching the #77 bus. If you're going east, get off at the southernmost exit. If you're going west, get off at the northernmost exit.
- Steve CasalinuovoAugust 30, 2013When trying to buy marijuana, please keep your phone conversations down as to not implicate everyone else in your crime.
- Eat at Clarke's diner under the train ... awesome sweet potato fries!
- North stairway is open and cross-connects so you can make the SB red to NB purple transfer easily from both ends.
- Go to Clark's, you will not regret this decision! I promise... Peace be with you.
- Joe OgrinMarch 23, 2012Don't stand directly in front of the train doors before entering train & same if you are on the train and not getting off.
