Walk across the bridge it’s so relaxing. I hate that netting that makes it look like a demilitarized zone. You can see the little red light house from here.

It is a bridge with a great history. Once you get a handle of the best time to travel in and out of the city. You can travel anywhere in the World.

Always take lower level of you have a choice to avoid trucks, going city bound be sure to slow down on that super curve lots of people are confused or lost to prevent pile up.
Although your instincts may tell you otherwise, it may actually be quicker to take the Upper Level (with all the trucks), as no one else is doing that.

Easiest access to the Palisades Parkway is via the upper level. Otherwise you have to deal with a lot of local traffic.
Protip: if you're in a car, go over the bridge. If you're in a boat, go under the bridge.If you're in an airplane, do what you want.

The upper deck is more scenic but can also be more crowded. Take the lower deck.
Great view up to Tappen Zee Bridge on a clear day and downtown to Cruise ship docks.

Yen CJuly 5, 2010The running / cycling path is on the south side of the bridge, upper level. Runners/walkers on R, cyclists on L, both ways (altho ppl don't always follow that rule). Always go single file.
One of the most well known and iconic bridges known worldwide!

usually the best approach to the GW but sometimes it is better to take Linwood and Lewis to the Lower Level. Wonder if they will ever get back to building a Lower Level Helix to/from the PIP?
Best way to get to the lower level is to exit off the turnpike and take 46. Avoid all the traffic on the turnpike.
Don't be stupid if you have easy pass move quickly idk why people don't have it yet. But the delay is always caused by the toll. Simple solution move quicker

Feed the homeless guy on the lower level of there bridge before you get on the Cross Bronx Expressway. I gave him a MetRx bar- Get freaked out when traffic is stopped and you feel the whole bridge shaking underneath your car..
