Brandi CartmillAugust 11, 2012I don't like this stop because it gets crowded but there are some pretty good performers. Especially the group of about 4 or 5 brothas. One actually put me on the spot and sang to me one time.
If you commute home on the Red Line, your best chance of getting a seat is standing on the far ends of the platform where you see the signs overhead which say 6, 8, or 6 8, respectively.- I frequent this stop. Its performers, good and bad, are an essential part of its atmosphere. I especially love the silver gorilla 'dancer' and the energy pumping drums in the tunnel.

Brian RayOctober 10, 2011If you're headed north, stay on Jackson. If southbound, walk north to Monroe. That will improve your chances getting a seat.- Earplugs are the only defense against crappy buskers. Also, be on guard for pickpockets if you use the tunnel to the Blue Line.

Ugh, avoid the station if you can. The tunnel too.- Listen to free live music while waiting for the train at this stop.
Walking into the station, not unusual to hear on the loud speaker, "if there are any police officers in the station, your assistance is needed on the platform."
