Best destination for the food of the Chinese city of Xi'an in NYC. Try the chewy liang pi noodles or "lamb face" salad, all doused in their alluringly fiery house sauces.
Of the Xian locales I've been to, this is the most efficient but also least enjoyable to go to. Still love the food but feels like it's missing something...aside from that, get the tingly noodles.
My boyfriend and I came in for a quick bite. I got the spicy cumin lamb burger, and he ordered the stewed pork burger. We went half-and-half, and we both agree that the stewed pork burger is better!
Oh my god, the N8: spicy hot oil seared hand pulled noodles. So good, great to chew on (that umami feeling!!) and great flavor. But everyone is on the money with the space limits - just be aware!
Excellent lamb dishes. Might stand in line for half an hour at lunch on a busy day but it's worth the wait. Kill time by watching them make the noodles and wondering what the "lamb face" dish is like!
Hand made noodles. Simple but very tasty. You have to try the spicy cumin lamb or the spicy and tingly beef. Very crowded during rush hour but worth the wait.
I've been here 5 times & have tried 8 dishes. LOVED: 1) Liang Pi Cold Skin Noodles 2) Spicy Cucumber Salad. FAILED: Spicy & Tingly Lamb Face Salad. See Top 10 dishes on Foodmento: Read more
The Liang Pi cold noodles are awesome, and you can't miss the lamb cumin burger. This place is usually packed, so you may have to stand at the counter to eat! Worth it.
Simple menu is complete with many wonderful options. Kitchen service is quick, albeit no waitstaff. The food is delicious, and reminds me of home cooked fare I have enjoyed while traveling overseas.
My fave food in the city - tasty, cheap & unique. It's spicy so be warned! I I live the lamb burgers - cold liang pi noodles & many varieties of hand pulled including stewed pork, lamb , oxtail.
Multiple Locations. Every lamb-centric, cumin-charged dish is as good as it’s always been, including all the various hand-ripped noodles, and our personal favorite, the lamb pao-mo soup.
The handmade noodles are incredible, the texture is different from anything you ever had. The broth and beef are excellent. Watch out for the spice if you are not used to spicy foods.
Xi'an is one of the greatest things to happen to vegetarians in NYC. It is cheap, filling, spicy and if you douse it with a little extra black vinegar, you won't know what hit you. Read more
Come here for the hand pulled noodles. Go to the back dining room for quicker service when there's a line. Take lots of napkins. It's messy particularly if you use their cheap fork or bring your own.
Noodles are extremely good and quite affordable. It's cash only so keep that in mind. Order by code (i.e "m4"). There's a menu on the wall when you enter.
Amazing vegetarian noodles. Perfectly cooked, mixed with delicious mushrooms and various vegetables served with Public Enemy ;) Unique experience definitely,
Spicy cumin lamb burger - NYC's best quickie sandwich. Pair it w/a soy milk. Service is fast, but avoid peak meal times if u don't wanna wait a long time.
FYI: At lunch, expect to wait about 10 minutes to reach the cashier and place your order, followed by another 20 minutes inside for your food. Worth every second.
Best hand noodle shop in town! Fresh noodles made right in front of you and it's one of a kind. The portions are big and the price is right. Hands down one of the best noodle shops in nyc!
