Update! No more RED BOX movie rental machine. :-/ still cozy spot with power outlets to charge devices. Bathrooms pop machines. Buy your metro tickets before boarding or it's extra fees.
If you have time before your train arrives, take the ten minute hike north to Millennium Station. Way more/better options for food and drink, not to mention better quality bathrooms.
The Van Buren station is a mess and needs to be fixed up! However, they do have great security plus a yummy food stand with drinks, snacks, reading material, etc!

Buy your tickets at the station, there's an extra $2.00 - $3.00 if you buy them on the train.
The ladies bathroom is absolutely DISGUSTING! You've been warned.
Ladies, use the bathroom before coming to this station it is filthy!
