- Serious EatsSeptember 19, 2013At the first US outpost of this Italian gelato shop, you'll find excellent gelato in sweet and savory flavors using local, organic produce, plus baked goods and some savory items.
- Emily WilsonJune 19, 2016Can't really think of any other spot in NYC that has gelato this good. You kinda feel like you stumbled across a cute little shop in Italy (except unfortunately you're in Park Slope). Get gianduja.
- Brian Grogan Jr.May 30, 2016Real deal Italian gelati. The flavors are amazing, and at times unexpected. Gianduia (chocolate & nutella), Ricotta e Amaretti, Saffron and Chamomile, and Arugula with Orange Zest are my favorites!
- Andrew CJune 14, 2021Window-service only Gelato spot in the heart of Park Slope, very lively and vibrant corner during the 5th Av Open Street... unique and funky homemade flavours that change daily!!!
- Project Latte: a NYC cafe culture guideJuly 30, 2013This Italian-originating restaurant, cafe, bakery and gelato shop, with beautiful design and a pretty, peaceful backyard, has landed on Park Slope's 5th Ave. The house roasted espresso is gnarly tho.
- Still one of the best gelato shops in NYC. Try new butter and salt flavor. It is great!
- Jack TarJuly 13, 2015Stopped for a small desert when mesmerized by the possibilities and my lack of potential. I asked the staff to pick out something for a friend and I. She fell in love with L'Albero ....Perfect.
- CamillionzSeptember 10, 2023this local neighborhood spot has some of the best gelato I’ve had in nyc. Up there with Grom, and the peach rivals Fatamorgana’s if you’ve been there (in Rome).
- LawwSeptember 1, 2013Amazing! Had the hazelnut, but tasted basil & pesto which would probably go perfectly with the roasted eggplant that I also tried. Great little garden in the back. Perfect date/after-dinner spot!
- Ayca AcunAugust 14, 2015Cutest ice cream garden ever. Try the non-diary chocolate flavor, actually less sweet and darker than the chocolate ice.cream:)
- Try one of the savory gelato favors. And don't miss the great, non-paralyzingly-enormous (like Eataly) selection of quality imported Italian specialties inside.
- Hannah NicdaoAugust 15, 2014Absolutely amazing gelato. Almond milk gelato was surprisingly delicious! Hazelnut all the way. And finally found pistachio ice cream that beats Jacques Torres' in dumbo!
- This place is so much more than a gelato shop. Incredible local, organic food and fabulous coffee and wine as well. All in a super cute atmosphere... Gotta try it.
- Crazy, this is the only location outside of Italy. Favs include: Seme Panini, Goat Cheese with Dark Chocolate or Pistachio gelati, and Sbrisolona (almond cookie)
- Project Latte: a NYC cafe culture guideJuly 30, 2013Surrounded by high walls on two sides, L'Albero Dei Gelati's secluded back garden is quiet and peaceful and sports a cunning garden table along with standard umbrella cafe tables.
- Lydia DingSeptember 8, 2013OMG get the olive oil and thyme flavor. Seriously wont go wrong. Also their attention to detail in the cafe is so cute.
- Kid sized is all you need here, it comes piled high out of the cup. Amazing flavors from saffron to savory pumpkin to maple syrup.
- SusumuAugust 6, 2016Gelato stand takes only cash. $4.90 for kids cup, $5.90 for small. Gelato is very sweet so kids cup may be enough.
- Lizzy KSeptember 8, 2018best gelato located in the family-friendly neighborhood of park slope. be sure to try their seasonal flavors!
- Very gluten-free friendly. Amazing backyard. Awesome gelato (try the olive oil)
- The gelato may get the attention but the panini and frittata are great as well.Upvoted 1 week ago
- Alexa CurtisJuly 20, 2013Very sweet staff, delicious food, and kid friendly seating in the back, plus outdoor seating.
- JessicaNovember 16, 2014Great example of delicious "slow cooking". Definitely recommend the panettone. The charcuterie plates are great appetizers too.
- Lots of dairy free options! And even a couple of vegan almond milk based flavors! The hazelnut is phenom!
- F. BastardApril 13, 2016Pistachio gelato has great texture but it's sadly under-powered flavor-wise. Taste before you commit!
- Gelato is absolutely amazing & their backyard is perfect for sitting outside when it's nice out!
- They have a toddler play table and enough room for a double stroller in the back!
- Jeff ForbesAugust 18, 2013Gianduia was awesome. (Dark chocolate + hazelnut). Probably some of the best gelato I've had in NYC!
- Jesse BagelsNovember 9, 2014More than just gelato, has a nice eating area inside and some killer French press
- JuAnne NgAugust 4, 2013Come try the unique flavors- zucchini flowers and arugula. The farm fresh strawberry flavor is money.
- Eden BJune 2, 2019I love any of the chocolate or nut flavors. Get the walnut flavor when they have it! It's amazing!
- Cody McBurnettApril 25, 2014Vegan-friendly! Sorbets, cake, and creamy almond milk-based gelato. Yum!
- Brownstone Living NYCJuly 29, 2015Light, creamy, velvety textured traditional style gelato.. All the flavors are on point.
- Erik MichielsenSeptember 16, 2016This place is a treasure. Lovely breakfasts, savory lunch food, sweet things, and sips to give your day a zippee-dee-doo!
- Sarah F. ParsonsNovember 15, 2013Fun flavors: like parmesan or green bean ice with mint..also wonderful sorbets like mango
