- Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be, just be aware of your surroundings, especially at night.
- Michael IvanovOctober 3, 2012Take the purple line express train even if you need to get on the red line towards the loop because its faster and directly takes you to Fullerton no stops and you can hop on red line there!!!!
- Alex is the best train operator ever! He always gets me to work on time at 5am on Saturday mornings -and always with a smile ! (which is usually more than I can muster at that time of day) :D
- Even the birds get impatient waiting for the purple line.
- Make sure you get on the right train, and keep your eye on your stuff, this track gets crowded
- We are standing momentarily waiting for signal clearance. We expect to be moving momentarily. Don't be surprised this is normal with CTA
- If you're coming in off the Yellow or Purple Lines, don't expect the Red Line to wait!
- History lesson: This station was rebuilt in 1921 when the line through the station was elevated onto an embankment. An escalator was added in 1964.
- The Purple Line is the warmest in the winter. Also there's the night owl bus up to Evanston if u miss the last purple train. Catch the N201 out the station in the bus terminal. It runs every 30mins.
- Dave TirkelApril 29, 2014If you're going to the Loop and work near Clark, take Purple to Belmont, then take Red the rest of the way. The Purple moves PAINFULLY slow after Belmont and stops every 4 sec. for "signal clearance."
- It would not surprise me to learn that the "this station smells" and most other anti-transit "tips" were posted by people who work(ed) at new automobile dealerships.
- Northern terminal for the Red Line. Also serves the Yellow & Purple Lines. During weekday rushes, catch the southbound Purple line express to Belmont.
- Have to pee on your way to Evanston after a night of drinking? TOO BAD
- Josh LeeJanuary 6, 2012The magical, fleeting moment when a red, purple, and yellow train are all at the station simultaneously.
- What the hell is with North bound reds pulling into the south bound side ? Schedule much??? Get better organization ! We need the purple and yellow lines so make them wait!
- Just installed digital signs so you know how late you’re going to be.
- If you are coming from Skokie, on the yellow line, the red line will leave as you arrive at the station.
- Brian ChristopherJanuary 9, 2014Finally fixed that loud ass escalator. Add at least 15 mins to any trip if you're switching to Purple or Yellow Line.
- Elizabeth NavarroSeptember 8, 2011Everyone says purple line is late but it's always early!!! Maybe it's cause they miss the early one. It's usually between 6-7 min early.
- The supervisor here is sooo against photographing even if the CTA website states that they welcome photographing. I think the PR people of CTA failed to send him the memo or he is just a crank.
- The @CTA system @ Howard needs to start being more responsible on being on time & not be waiting for over 15-20min! Its only this platform!
- The staff here does nothing to help patrons experience with syncing trains letting departing train CLOSE doors as arriving train opens doors & here we sit at least another 15 20 WAITIN f'n ridiculous!
- Great place to catch various buses to old orchard and evanston.
- Joey PrudenSeptember 16, 2011If you take the purple line down to here. The waiting red line will almost, always immediately shut its doors and leave as you step off the train. Wtf?
- I love how everyone clusters at the foot of the stairs like a damned fool. By love I mean HAAATTTTTEEE.
- Don't park in the garage next door, it steals your cash when you try to get out.
- I have never had a problem catching a train here. My CTA app tells me exactly when to be at the station.
- Seth AllenApril 5, 2010The trains here are almost never on schedule... In fact, that's why I'm taking the time to write this so-called "tip", my purple line train is late!
- Purple line to the loop doesn't run after 9:45 am. And I've been waiting for it for nearly half an hour. A mistake I will *not* make again.
- Rose RosenhauerJune 24, 2013The north and southbound purple line almost always has "technical delays" when departing this station. Expect 15 minutes
- A schedule , what a great idea . We should tell the CTA. Oh wait they could give a $&i%
- Be careful. Don't trust the colors on the side of the trains. I got on a purple line towards the loop here and then was kicked off at the end of the platform because the train was ending its run.
- Watch out for elderly people running to catch the Skokie swift.
- Geoff J.August 21, 2011Pure hell catching the purple line transfer, especially when you need to piss, late at night or after a Cubs game.
- Sibyl MedieNovember 12, 2011So a man is smoking on the train and is telling everyone about the riot he caused when in prison...why did I leave my tazer at home?
- I wish the digital thank you sign displayed the time the train would be here, or how late it will be.
- antonioSeptember 12, 2011It smells like pee because the passengers piss on the stairs all day and night. So don't complain to us. All we can do is clean it afterwards
- Walk to the north end of the north going platform for the Yellow line to Skokie.
- Parking garage USED to be free. Now it is a flat $5 charge. Need exact amount (no change given on $10s or $20s.
- The station is very entertaining at 11pm. Like an episode of Cops, but without the actual cops
- The trains here are like home to me. I've enjoyed much rest.
- Arthur AvalosNovember 8, 2012Trains may not follow the schedule all the time but there is one not far behind.
