- EaterApril 8, 2014Bar Bolonat is the new modern Israeli restaurant from Einat Admony. The menu includes shrimp in "Yemenite curry," kibbeh stuffed with spiced beef, & steak with freekeh salad and tahini.
- Mike McBryanDecember 11, 2014Great atmosphere and delicious food. Would recommend trying 2 smaller plates rather than an entree. Really enjoyed the shrimp curry, cauliflower, fried olives, short rib and ravioli.
- Blake LJanuary 5, 2018If you like Israeli food, this is a must! And, their wine selection is great too. This Israeli wine was delicious. A blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Barbera.
- Noah WeissAugust 29, 2015Great Middle Eastern leaning Israeli food, way better than Balaboosta, from the Taim chef. Jerusalem bagel, lamb neck, and the gin cocktail were standouts.
- David RosenbergJanuary 8, 2015Here's your meal for 4 people: Jeru Bagel, Fluke Ceviche, Beets / Za'atar Ravioli, Erryday Cauliflower, Kibbeh / Wild Mushroom Pasta, Poussin. Pair with the Le More, Sangiovese. Kol hakavod, you won.
- Mike McBryanJanuary 14, 2016Always reliable - don't miss the fried olives, bagel, or cauliflower, but my personal favorite was the grilled eggplant!
- miles lennonApril 21, 2015One of the best restaurants overall in the west village. Amazing flavors! Cauliflower is off the hook. Octopus, short rib tagine, and the lamb are all insanely good
- Leah HammerschlagAugust 8, 2018Highly recommend. Did private group dining, every dish was great. The falafel crusted cod might have been the best dish of the night - super unique with a great sauce
- Fei XiaoMay 20, 2015Would skip the cauliflower, do the Japanese eggplant again and the Jerusalem bagel. Lamb neck was very tender and slightly fatty (delicious)
- Matthew SpectorApril 4, 2015Outrageously amazing Modern Israeli and Mediterranean food. An edited wine list meets amazing plates - delicious everyday cauliflower, fantastic beets and small dishes.
- Leigh FerreiraMarch 26, 2014everything was fantastic, but the cauliflower w/ peanut tahini was 2 die 4. this will 4 sure b my new local. supercute.
- CassidyJune 21, 2014Everything is good. Seriously, everything. But especially the cauliflower, chickpeas, eggplant, bagel, and lamb belly.
- julia tMay 24, 2015At lunch, the beet salad is creamy and delicious. The avocado salad equally tasty, and also light. A great meal. Can skip the Bloody Mary.
- @JaumePrimeroMay 8, 2014Order the poussin! So good; and perfect for two! Artichokes are also delish.
- Mike W.April 2, 2014I was here last night for dinner. The plates are meant for sharing. We had the cauliflower, shrimp, steak and poussin. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- JeffOctober 30, 2016The food is delicious, eggplant is outstanding, so is short rib, kibbeh, the meatballs and the fried olives!!!
- Asher Kahn-KrellSeptember 7, 2014Order the fried olives and come with lots of people. The best way to eat here is by ordering lots of dishes and sharing.
- JasonApril 12, 2014Tasty modern Middle Eastern flavors, small plates. I'd wait a month or so for them to smooth out the service hiccups. Lively bar scene, but tiny food portions.
- Sara LindströmFebruary 19, 2017Great drinks, great beer albeit small selection and great food. Super friendly and nice staff.
- Stephen MilbankMarch 21, 2016Eggplant, cauliflower, and poussin FTW. Milky and halvah creme brûlée pretty damn good too.
- Emilie FuttermanMarch 24, 2016Great wine menu, good service. Get the fluke ceviche, the beet salad, and the duck.
- Wilson ZhouNovember 25, 2017The ubiquitous Levantine empanada is elevated with perfect execution and clarity of flavor. ★★★
- The New YorkerApril 14, 2015“Bar Bolonat is no copycat of Balaboosta—if the two restaurants were sisters, they’d be fraternal twins who share interests but not clothes, because one has more expensive taste.” Read more
- Our server Edgar was wonderful!! So knowledgeable and friendly! The cauliflower was amazing!
- Fueled CollectiveSeptember 23, 2013This place is much different than your average Jewish Israeli food joint. Most places offer only Ashkenazi (Eastern European) recipes. Bar Bolonat on the other hand is Sephardic, real Middle Eastern!
- Susan J CampbellJune 4, 2016Delicious place with great servers. The cauliflower and the eggplant were fabulous but everything was good
- Zack PackerMarch 11, 2016Jerusalem Bagel, za'atar, ceviche, amazing cocktails, delicious Middle Eastern food!
- David RaynerApril 15, 2014New spot in the west village. All the apps were great. Didn't love the chicken. I'll be back.
- Conor OgleAugust 11, 2017hit and miss on Kibbeh (sometimes exceptional, sometimes a little greasy). everything else is sumptuous. always.
- This place is beyond amazing! I haven't experienced such fabulous food since being in Israel!
- Leela RamnathApril 9, 2014The artichokes are amazing and Yemenite shrimp curry are as unique as delicious.
- CharlottesMarch 21, 2015We just about polished off our meal before our cocktails arrived - and we were seated at the bar!
- Alexis BendjouiaOctober 11, 2014A bit disappointed with food and service in general. My sazerac was good. The rest was pretty mediocre. Tiny, overpriced portions that are pretty unimpressive. Speaking on behalf of appetizers.
