Daya TennilleAugust 25, 2011Please move to the center of the train upon entering the car or risk causing an accident unnecessarily. If ur getting off soon...don't forget to get off the train to let others off. Be considerate!
Please remember to take all your belongings when leaving... Otherwise Metro employees will think your stuff is a bomb and stop service to check it!

If the trains are crowded and you need to step off to let people out do so and stand next to the door so you csnnget back on. For those standing on the platform, leave room so they can do so.- Seriously? Don't let your kids sit on the escalator stairs on the way down (or up). It's not cute, it's dangerous. And it puts them all up in my way as I hustle to catch the trains!

One of the busier metro stations. Pay attention to the signs for your train. We try to avoid this station during rush hour.
To arrive in front of the elevator at the Bethesda station, board the Shady Grove-bound train at Metro Center at the center or rear door of the front car. Very useful during rush hour.

Linz JaxJune 13, 2013If there is a group of people behind you don't stop the second you get through the door if there is empty space in front of you. It's extremely annoying to have to weave around you.
The DC Metro System is excellent in that every train at every station is completely accessible!
To avoid waiting at this station just to go one stop, it's sometimes faster to just walk to Chinatown.
please be courtious of others and abide by the metro stations unwritten rules stand right walk left!
Take the correct stairway or you'll be on that wrong side of the track.

WALK LEFT, STAND RIGHT. Don't block the whole escalator with your suitcases and make others miss their trains!!!
If a person in front of you is standing on the left, etiquette calls for a drop-shoulder shove to push them forcefully out of your way.
If you're going to a Caps game (or other Verizon event) during rush hour, its easier and faster to walk from here, don't bother transferring to the Green Line.
You can see the station lights from Gallery Place when you look into the tunnels from the Red Line platforms.

Please stand to right on escalators so people can pass. Also, hurry off trains. The doors automatically close after a period and you cannot block the doors open!
Your perfume and/or cologne doesn't smell as good as you think it does. Go easy on the stuff, please.

Make sure to look at a metro map ahead of time this place is crowded
If you are carrying a large bag (backpack. etc.), remove it so you don't hit people inadvertently.
Please add another 15 mins to the recommended 30 mins Metro informs you to add to your commute time to compensate for delay due to weekend track maintenance.

Dont lean against the pole with your whole body so that no one else can hold it except awkwardly above your head

Linda GriffinOctober 31, 2010Both the Blue and Orange line trains run on the same track. Check the front of the train to make sure you get on the right one
For quick access to the Blue & Orange lines board the Red line train in the car closest to the center
If it's outside normal rush hour traffic, you'll probably be waiting a while.
