- Iñaki AranzadiNovember 6, 2016I have the Yamadaya Kotteri Ramen, and enjoy every piece and drop. It had crunchy pieces of garlic over a very tender and delicious pork on a perfect shoyu broth. Coming back soon!
- Nikola NinkovicSeptember 3, 2017One of the best bowls in the city. Kakuni Shio is amazingly rich, pork is delicious, and noodles are thin and perfectly cooked. Only thing is that the place is crowded with tourists and families.
- Sherry LiJuly 12, 2015Very good ramen, second only to Waraku. The broth is very greasy. Chashu and pork belly are amazing. Pretty good karaage too.
- D LoDecember 5, 2019Proper Tokyo-type ramen - the pork broth is rich and full of bits of garlic, which made it a true joy to drink the soup. Get the thick noodles, and rejoice when you slurp it down with the fatty pork!
- CarolDecember 22, 2017Very cool ramen place, with yummy food and friendly service. They have Vegan ramen option that is quite tasty.
- This place used to be my favorite ramen in San Francisco, but after being open for nearly a year I feel the quality has suffered. I look forward to my next meal here being as good as back then.
- Martín CaballeroJanuary 30, 2018Cozy Japanese ramen house. Get a bunch of appetizers and a little of everything along with your big bowl of ramen (extra noodle portion). Get adventurous with the spice bombs if you dare.
- George LeeAugust 22, 2016Black sesame ramen and karage are tasty. Ice cream mochi is very gooey and tasty.
- Keyue BaoNovember 11, 2017Even the mild spicy here is spicy! Other than that good option when you want Ramen in Japantown
- Bobbie McLellanJuly 19, 2017Karage and the spicy tonkotsu ramen were both very good. Large portions. Broth and noodles definitely not going to beat the best in the city but good overall.
- An ShengJuly 18, 2017They give you a ginormous amount of meat, the broth is super rich. A bit heavy but always delicious! The karaage is 🔥
- Jinnie LJanuary 31, 2015Pretty goid ramen place :) tonkotsu ramen was good~ (their noodles r thinner than other ramen place) kakuni (pork belly-ramen topping) get it! yumyum~
- Scott MasseyMay 11, 2014Had the Yamadaya ramen w/tonkotsu shoyu. Yumi had vegan ramen. Both were pretty amazing. Also devoured Kara age. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend.
- AdrianMay 26, 2016Ramen is fantastic. You can't go wrong with what you choose. It gets busy though, but the place is big so line moves fast.
- Artem ZinnatullinJuly 16, 2017I liked Ramen, broth is great, pork is awesome, but noodles seem to be a cheaper ones.
- arjun bJuly 7, 2017dankest spicy tonkotsu i've slurped in the west. they're all about their thin noodles but if i went back i'd upgrade to the thickies
- They have many choices of combo, e.g. Ramen with Gyoza and Rice, Ramen with Karaage and Rice. Big stomach-friendly! 🍜🍗🍚
- Johnny AppleseedJuly 25, 2015Ramen Yamadaya is a great quick place for some hearty ramen. I recommend getting Gyoza and salad to make a full meal.
- Jamie LinApril 16, 2015Ask for garlic on the side so you can add fresh pressed garlic over your ramen! Side dishes unnecessary for ordering if you're not too hungry.
- Jole PDecember 24, 2015Delicious ramen with pork that melts in your mouth. The red bean fish shaped desserts are also a favorite
- Jimmy LuDecember 17, 2017Probably my 3rd favorite Ramen spot in SF. Friends and I enjoyed the Ramen and the curry rice dish
- SolarioAugust 10, 2015Grab a big ol' slab of extra pork belly to snack on or throw into your ramen. Totally worth it.
- Michee LeeApril 13, 2014Spicy ramen is pretty good, even level 1 has a good kick. The fatty broth is super rich in flavor too!
- Jessica TaylorFebruary 29, 2016Big portions. Line seemed long, waited about 30 minutes. Heard a server tell another server always say the wait is 15-20 minutes no matter how long or short the line, so beware about that!
- KarenJanuary 6, 2018I love that the seating area feels like you're in a Japanese house. The ramen here is pretty standard, nothing remarkable.
- JennyMarch 15, 2015Ramen tonkatsu spicy is the perfect spicy umani combination. Get extra thick noodles and fresh garlic
- Barton SmithAugust 2, 2014Might be my favorite ramen in the city so far - taking over from Tanpopo. Shoyu was nice and creamy.
- Kevin SmithOctober 27, 2014The Japanese consulate general recommended this place to me as the best ramen in San Francisco.
- Barton SmithAugust 9, 2014Side salad is straight cabbage but the dressing is delicious. You'll probably want to ask for extra.
- Ming MingJanuary 5, 2015Ordered the Yamadaya ramen and ginger pork rice bowl. Ramen was good to go! The pork rice bowl, not so much.
- Lori LeeFebruary 15, 2015The vegan ramen was surprisingly good. On the other hand, the service is not great. They are constantly rushing you to order and pay because there is a wait to get in.
- Bkwm JDecember 26, 2013See the layer of pork fat floating on top? That's the 20 hours Tonkotsu power! 😋😍
- Tobias SchmidtSeptember 23, 2017The Kakuni Kotteri is tasty – the pork belly in particular is buttery smooth – but the broth is also incredibly rich
- Diana ArzJanuary 26, 2019Don’t know what happened to the food quality, but today it was so disappointing. Ramen was bland, sliders were too sloppy with too much of fat, chicken was dry. Good service though. Wouldn’t be back.
- You should try Tonkotsu Kotteri. Tsukemen is also good, but the one in Iza is better.
- Martin AnguloOctober 14, 2014Try to get there before the dinner rush begins. You can easily end up with a 30 mins or more wait.
