Any night is a good night. Beers $5-$9. Not bad. You can order pizza from the venue. First timers please don't block the walkway/bar to the patio. A lot of indie bands and upcoming artists. [chvrches]
Awesome layout! Bar seating in the back with a slightly raised platform so you can still see the show. Dance floor on the right. Patio entrance at the back left. And cool staff to boot.
One of my favorite places to see a show in LA. Every view is a good view and if you get bored of the crowds take your beer out back and chat up a stranger or stare at your feet. Bring cigarettes.
If you're into funk, soul and fancy footwork, then Funky Sole's on Saturday is for you. The music is hard not to dance to and you'll find yourself grooving out on a floor packed with breakers. Read more
Funky Sole. Friendly, happy, positive people. A great experience. Place was packed! Great to see young folks digging music made like 20 years before they were born. Drinks were steep ($$) though.
Great parking and good food in the surrounding neighborhoods! Once you get in the drinks at the full bar are inexpensive. The venue is small but every view is a great view! Read more
Not the most glamorous, but the divey vibes & iconic status give a kind of cbgb feel to an LA venue. Order Two Boots at the bar, & catch Monday night residencies to see bands on the verge of success
Is now the best venue in LA. Other spots have gotten too pricey or fallen off. Bootie parties, part time punks, funky sole, check yo ponytail and new and old underground, indie favorites
Women's restroom is behind the merch table while the men's restroom is on the opposite side of the stage. Be prepped before pushing your way through the crowd.
Going here means you’ve gotta venture out into the artists’ Echo Park enclave. Plenty of great out-of-town bands blow through here on a regular basis, but don’t expect top-list clientele.
The Echo really is one of the best Indie clubs in the world. Pick a night. It will either be the next new sound or a classic underground act! TW ♥'s the Echo! Read more
The Echo and its downstairs counterpart, Echoplex book the hottest indie bands. Stop by the Echo for regular “Bootie L.A.” nights, featuring DJs spinning rock and pop mash-ups. Read more
Fun fact: Airborne Toxic Event played 10 of their first 12 shows here. They literally had to beg for the slot after Spaceland said no. What do you think the booking agent would say now?
They don't tell you beforehand that you can't bring your backpack and then they tell you to fuck off if you try to get back inside even though you already paid for your ticket. Full of assholes.
