Go-to lunch spot for fantastic hand rolls made fresh in front of you. Bar-seating so good for smaller groups and perfect if you’re on your own. Same owner as Sugarfish but I find the rice here better.
Always get the 5 hand rolls for the best deal and sub out the crab meat for either the yellowtail or toro and never pick cucumber over scallops of you're an idiot.
Those handrolls are so amazing. I loved the set 5 hand roll which filled me up but I wish I got the set 6 hand roll because it was sooo delicious. I look forward to going back.
Just line up and wait for some seats to free up. Only thing on the menu is the delicious warm rice and crunchy hand rolls. Blue Crab and Lobster are my personal favorites. Going solo is great too.
(From the restaurant group that brought us Sugarfish) has a few locations in LA. It’s a quality, quick, hand rollbar which is well priced and without frills.
The boys and I love going to this place for sushi. They only do hand rolls and it's the freshest fish I've had in LA. The toro roll is my personal favorite. Beware...it's addicting. Read more
It's all so good but it's just a matter of when to come. Either come during the non-peak times or figure out the shift changes (eg, first group arriving at 11:30am usually leaves at about 12:10 or so)
If you enjoy Sugarfish, you're likely to enjoy the food here as well, same fabulous, warm rice, tasty seafood, and streamlined format for maximum price to quality ratio.
Great place to hang out with friends (even solo). Staff was super nice and friendly. Food I would say was average, you can definitely find better handroll somewhere else.
They use disposable plates. Everything they use is disposable, in fact. The set up is bar stools only, and the space is small. Sushi isn't any different from other sushi places. Pricey 4 what you get.
