The team behind Ganso Ramen recently opened a second spot specializing in Japanese street food. Think grilled trout on a cedar plank, miso-cured black cod and a savory cabbage-and-pork-belly pancake. Read more

Offers a great variety of Japanese dishes, from the accessible (tsukune) to the more exotic (shiokara). Great beer selection as well. Strongly recommend sharing and save some room for mochi ice cream

Okonomiyaki and Tsukune yakitori are childhood favorites, and they were both really great with a modern twist here. The okonomiyaki came in a skillet, which was absolutely perfect. Will be back soon!

I rarely say this, but the vegetable dishes are fantastic. The asparagus will have you trying to scoop every tiny bit from the bowl. Also worth not sharing is the Burdock root. Get your own, jerk.

Not your moms fried calamari. There's a reason why this pic comes up a lot. This dish is the best. No clue how they get squid to b so tender. But they do.

Great spot! A welcome addition to the hood. Menu changes seasonally/monthly but the shumai, fried chicken and short rib that I just ate were so yum.

Great food. Real Japanese tapas. But dishes are being served muuuuuch too fast. A little more time to enjoy would be great.

Tasty, the only decent yakitori place in the neighborhood, but all the yaki are weirdly cut into large American portions. Probably about 30% more expensive than equivalent places in the village.

The duck soba and salmon chan chan were amazing. Chill, very neighborhoody spot filled with locals.

The only mistake I made was getting one order of kinoko to share with two people. You'll want it all to yourself.

Really good Japanese comfort food, a good beer selection and classic hip hop over the speakers.

Prepare yourself for a long wait and be careful if you order or do take out, they will botch your order and make you wait a 2nd time. Sad because I do love the food but BS like this is too much

The ramen is decent. I had the Saporro. The broth could have been more flavorful and noodles tasted a bit like instant ramen. 😕

I liked the okonomiyaki a lot but this place is a bit mediocre, they should focus more

Food is good, but similar to a lot of pricey izakayas in this city. Mushrooms and okonomiyaki stood out.
