- The perimeter swim is just under a mile and is worth it for the marin/bridge view at the entrance Park at the end of van ness (4 hour parking) vs. the warf side.

- The loop around the buoys is 1/3 mile. Keep them on your left and don't forget water to rinse your feet off after the swim.
- if you have a teenager interested in a sailing program check out SF Sea Scouts! it's co-ed and run by the Boy Scouts of America.
- Go for a perimeter swim and swim out to the opening to see the Golden Gate Bridge when the sun starts to set
