Amazing. I was expecting some dismal cheap moldy hostel, and was totally impressed by this place. Bathrooms were spotless, rooms were cosy, and entire vibe of hostel is young and cool.

Estefania HDecember 23, 2016One of the most expensive hostels I have been to from HI, but of course, Manhattan is expensive so it's great. You can't beat the place: it's really awesome, comfortable, good breakfasts + location!

Great hostel for a great deal! Especially if you're traveling alone; they organize tonsss of fun trips like tours and pub crawls that make it easy to meet people from all over the world.

Very big hostel. Good location. Lot of common areas and activities. Kitchen not that good for me, fridges messy of bags. And there are so many people that need more cleaning. Very kind people

Vivian SchraiberSeptember 12, 2015I don't recommend it. I made a reservation for a 6bed female and when I arrived they didn't have any bed for me. I stayed in a mixed room. The hostel is all in carpet, which makes it smells bad.

Bradley SacksJanuary 4, 2013At first the hostel seems nice but be warned it is pricey I paid $59 a night and it is in a dodgy area with a VERY high crime rate. Make sure to lock your valuables in the locker $5 for 24 hours

Best hostel ever. Everyone is kind! Great atmosphere!!! Love it!
I think the building is made of carton. When someone walks in the room it feels as an earthquake. Good hostel though.
Try the Grand Tour. Only 10 dollars for 14 hours thru the city. Prepare to walk a lot.

Best room, towels and people in town. Slow but free internet! Enjoy the upper lounge, and in summer, the patio!- Buy food and use the kitchen on the basement. Best money saver.
Be sure to say hi to Ari, the Community Engagement Manager for HI New York. I hear he gives out cookies ;)
Rule number one to stay in hostels: If you snore .. DON'T STAY IN HOSTELS!!
