- Get the four or five roll combos. They are priced way better than ala carte. Also the line moves fast. Don't let it deter you.
- YES: crab, yellowtail, toro. Pick up the roll with your hands and dip the end in soy sauce if you wish. Finish while nori is still crunchy!
- Yelizaveta KayApril 15, 2017Try the 6 hand roll combo! A must for your first visit. The fish here is fresh, rice is warm, seaweed crispy...YUMMMM😍
- TomApril 17, 2017Walk in, grab an empty seat and pencil in your order. Rolls are served as the are made. Get one of their sets, they're a better value. The line moves quick.
- Alex RobertsonApril 27, 2017started out liking the rolls with the tuna and yellowtail but quickly wondered about the quality of the fish, the extra vinegar on the rice. great seaweed, cool spot, tasty rolls
- Paige CFebruary 25, 2018Incredible hand rolls. Crunchy, warm, fresh, & well made. My only complaint is how rushed the experience feels. The line is always out the door and you feel guilty about enjoying your time there.
- Jack OsborneOctober 2, 2018This place is delicious and a solid lunch option if you're looking to treat yo self. Get there a little on the early side, 11:45/12, otherwise you might be waiting a while due to limited seating.
- J CrowleyJuly 21, 2017No kidding, this is some of the best sushi I've had in NYC. I did the 5 roll conbo + a bonus crab roll. $30 well spent.
- Come here when it opens for lunch and there's no line. perfect amount of food. nicest service ever. i always get the iced green tea here. it's high quality and it comes with unlimited refills!!
- Janis HuangJune 30, 2017Line isn't too bad, went much faster than expected. 5 handrolls is a good amount if you're hungry. Standouts were yellowtail, toro, and the iced green tea. No tipping and prices are reasonable.
- KinoJuly 27, 2018Kazunori was good, not amazing. Affordable no tipping restaurant. Fish was mostly scraps. Rice & seaweed were good. Blue crab, different yet interesting. Line moves quickly. Solo diners abound.
- Eliza BethOctober 27, 2018If ur looking for authentic hand rolls, this is not the place for u. Fish mashed like ground fish, and you mainly taste the rice & mayo they mix in. Combo is off..Rice is hot & fish is cold. Overhyped
- Pre-set hand roll menus are great options. Salmon sashimi is also worth getting
- Great, affordable hand rolls — bay scallops, yellowtail, toro, and crab were my favorites
- Stephanie HSeptember 29, 2019Incredible-- get the 5 or 6 roll combo. Toro was our fav. Hack: come 5-10 min before opening (1130a, 12p on Sun) to get dibs on first sitting!
- Barry HottNovember 2, 2017Excellent hand rolls, served fresh. Try to come at an off-time so you don't have to wait in line.
- Neelu RaviOctober 1, 2017I started off with vegetarian rolls, eventually ended up loving their shrimp rolls. The rolls are made right in front of you. Best hand rolls I have had. Service is just WOW.
- Foxxy BJanuary 19, 2018Gets busy by noon (a line starts to form). 3 rolls is plenty if you're not that hungry, 5 max if you are. The combos are a much better deal than à la carte. Service is very nice & relatively quick.
- Blue crab is incredible, so is Toro. Salmon and yellowtail are also good. Melts in your mouth with warm rice & cold fish & crunchy seaweed 😋
- Kivanc OnanOctober 13, 2017This is a simple and relatively quick eatery for handrolls. The quality of the ingredients is great and service is very attentive. You pick from one of the set menus.
- excellent! crab and lobster i thought were meh but the fish were all great. go for seconds on toro: it's so cheap! can't wait for them to have sake
- Fatima Al HashimiAugust 24, 2019Loved the toro, yellowtail & sea bream. Salmon sashimi also really good.
- Rock RainesJuly 14, 2019From the sugarfish team so it’s a hospitality included situation which is good because it’s a quick serve type place. FYI Hand rolls are only available at counter but you can get cut rolls to go
- Tim BushnellMay 11, 2017A good place for a quick bite of sushi, its self seating and prepared as they go in whole rolls. Don't expect fancy presentation, but it is a tasty affordable option for sushi
- Jason H.October 16, 2017Excellent place to explore a variety of hand rolls like they were meant to be - crispy seaweed, fresh fish, warm rice. Excellent and reasonably priced. Expect a line.
- Kelsey✨January 17, 2019Cozy, good for a date or solo dining. Try to arrive by 6 to beat the post-work dinner rush
- Hailey CaldwellFebruary 26, 2018I’m obsessed with this place. It’s a no tipping restaurant so that’s a plus. It’s very popular so try and go during a weird time. You can’t miss with the 5 hand roll special and iced green tea.
- James KiernanSeptember 6, 2019Sushi is fresh to death! Place gets crowded quick for lunch but they run a tight ship and keep things moving! Look out for the sea bass roll! 🍣
- Andre MalayAugust 5, 2019They don’t have booking. I tried 4 kinds of hand rolls, and they were very tasty. It’s worth to stand in a line to try them.
- Crisp seaweed, fresh fish and warm rice are the perfect combo. Prices are fair (including a no tipping policy) and you leave full and satisfied.
- Tanay ModiAugust 1, 2017Go for a weekday lunch when there is no line and get the set menu of 5 hand rolls 👌🏼💯
- amazing handrolls! the toro was obviously delicious and the yam was a tasty vegetarian option. the fish was pretty fresh and they serve the rice warm!
- esther kimJuly 26, 2017Toro roll and blue crab rolls are out of this world. Eat it as soon as it's placed in front of you so it doesn't get soggy!
- Always perfect. Worth the wait. Posting this tip makes me wanna go back... ok I’m going cya 👋🏽
- David MilbergMarch 22, 2017The sushi is phenomenal here! Also a very cool atmosphere and great staff. Highly recommend.
- Erika PerziApril 17, 2019Walked in not knowing what to expect and left a happy camper. Great concept esp if solo and quality was A+
- Supreme. Great concept. Better execution. Recommend the multi-role combos as others have noted.
- Roniel TesslerJune 17, 2017These hand rolls, tho. The blue crab and Toro are my favorite, but everything here is like buttahhh
- Nick MolinaSeptember 18, 2018Super fast and delicious. Go at lunch - dinner is a mad house. Remember there's no tipping so don't get sticker shock.
- Michael MuseJanuary 12, 2018I loved everything, including the lobster, which I wasn't expecting to love. Solid price to quality/quantity radio
- Ranu RajkarnikarJanuary 12, 20196 hand rolls. Iced green tea. Full and happy and bed. Scallop, yellowtail and lobster are all outstanding.
- Elizabeth BursteinOctober 6, 2017Stellar. Loved the 5-roll combo. Good handrolls, on frills. Iced green tea makes a nice addition.
- Wendy SungApril 5, 2018Good quality fish but more like fast food execution... And pretty expensive too! Expect to spend at least $15 for lunch
- Jastine KhoApril 18, 2018Upscale “fast food” experience- watch as your hand rolls are made right in front of you. Excellent sushi!
- Vivian KongMarch 11, 2018Love this spot. It's an affordable place to get your fresh, delicious sushi fix!
- Paul HuangMay 16, 2018The nori+rice is to die for, rarely where the "meat" of the hand roll takes second place to the nori+rice.
- 4-roll menu for lunch was perfect. Get there just before 11:30 so not to wait in a line!
