Xakanaxa is an amazing and special place. The staff are great and gives many homely vibes. Spend at least 3 nights here and you won’t be disappointed. Every meal and game drive is different.

In summer they have special matcha jelly and year round there is ice cream. Be prepared for a very long wait for a seat at the cafe.
Fluffy and soft mochi, the best. Buy one at ¥180 and stand on the opposite sidewalk or elsewhere to savour it. The sidewalk in front of the shop is narrow and gets crowded. Let’s be considerate. :)
Less crowded and well worth the short hike up the hill and the stairs for a great view of Nara.
A small shop run by one chef, who serves up a good piping hot plate of beef curry or Demi-glacé with great politeness. The pickles go great with the rice too!
